FIRE LEYLAND!
WHO THE HELL PITCHES HIS CLOSER FOR 4 INNINGS?
WHO THE HELL LETS GERALD LAIRD Bat wit the bases loaded and 2 outs with bot Avila and Thames on the bench?
He kept Laird in for his defense. He saved at least one wild pitch, possibly two. I completely agree with Leyland's call to leave him in. Rodney was questionable, at best.
I would give up a little D for potential O considering the team had the bases loaded!
OH AND FUCK THE UMP FOR MISSING THE HBP ON INGE!
Sure that was a blown call, but the Tigers had so many opportunities to score and couldn't make good. They were saved by an absolutely ridiculous put-out at home plate to get Casilla and the couldn't score with the bases loaded.

Rodney should have come out. He was starting to look a little fatigued and I think his confidence had been rocked by the offense's inability to score.
Even though it worked out for the Twins, I thought both managers were a little to eager to substitute players. The Twins took Kubel out of the game and, despite the fact that Gomez delivered, I don't know anybody who would pick Gomez to be in that spot over Kubel. On the Tigers' side, they took Ordonez and Guillen out. I wasn't a fan of any of these moves.
