TWiT studio by Leo Laporte gets a new studio

Do we really want to dwell on Leos personal life? What he does behind the scenes right or wrong is his personal business. We only watch the Leo that hosts various shows.

Then again mistakingly exposing it to the public doesn't help. Oh well he's divorced and has new Girlfriend that's also pretty much the co-owner. Who knows what troubles this can get him into. His problem, his life.

Does the new studio really bring anything new? Still just people sitting and yaking. Now in HD.

Don't get me wrong I like some of the shows on Twit. Just don't see where the new studio enhances the already good shows.

However Leo worked hard to get where he's at and if he wanted his own studio then he should have it. It would suck if the new studio is causing budget issues though.

However I recall the amount that the studio costed was much higher than planned.

Stopped listening to all of TWIT...

Kind of sad really. I actually liked PC Perspective. The live feeds were the best for PC Per. It's weird that I just stopped listening to that... It was good. Anyway, the whole network has kind of gone down the drain.

I still listen to This Week in Tech but it's infuriating most of the time. Guaranteed the first 20 minutes are wasted on intros and "inside podcasting" talk. Last one was "This Week in Cancer". Annoying.

Laporte is a dumbass. The dude bought a 60" Pioneer Kuro display and couldn't figure out how to turn it on so he returned it thinking it was broken. This dude is giving tech advice to people? Seriously?

I stopped listening to TWiT back in, oh, 2008 or so when I realized that the guests and information made the podcast the equivalent to reading about tech in a print magazine a month after the news hits the Internet. Not only are they incredibly behind on everything, they also have terrible analysis and understanding of the technology at work.

I started listening about 2.5 years ago and while at times TwiT is slow it is still a good show. They have been very current in their topics, specifically with Facebook acquisitions, stock IPO, etc. I am not sure why you think they are so far behind. It is a this week in tech show. Yes it is the same as staying current on other websites but it is still fun to listen to it, at least when John Devorak is on.

Since "This Week in Tech" is released on Sunday, it is usually filled with old news that I already saw on websites during the week. Plus its now 30 minutes of ads and and an hour of talking about people lives. I am still a fan of "All About Android" and "Security Now" on the same network.

eh twig/all about android tend to be low on content, high on babble. twit security now atleast gibson seems to prepare so he has something to talk about, twil is interesting too...but yea some of the shows are just "chat".

the one i miss was the color science guy, he didn't dumb it down, and had good stories, but apparently that wasn't good enough for sponsors.

anyways for science you are better off with bbc or npr podcasts. and time stretching is always good
