Mmm eye surgery has nothing to do with looking at computer for long periods.

Yeah, this. I've been starring at computer screens for 6-16 hours a day for over 10 years. Back when it was CRTs and I had the brightness way too high (and the room was super dark) then yeah... eye strain. Now I have the brightness lower and the lights on, no eye strain.

I watched a bit of Dan's channel. His channel seems pretty cool, and I can see why it's popular. It might seem that he has an awesome job, but what about the negatives?

-eyestrain from looking at the monitor/TV screen for so long. I went thru 2 eye operations because I was on the computer for long periods.

-obesity from inactivity. Sitting on your butt and playing video games for 8-12 hours a day is not healthy.

-burnout. Everything in moderation. I love chocolate but if I am eating it everyday it starts to lose its appeal very quickly.

-isolation. Yes, he is talking to people in his chat room, but there is no face to face contact.

-arthritis. Playing for a long time can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. Imagine doing it daily for long periods. I can only imagine what his fingers must feel like after 12 hours of gaming.

Anyway, Dan still has a pretty cool job.
LethalFrag recently finished his two year livestream challenge. Stream everyday, for 6-8 hours. He lost weight, got a girlfriend all in that time as well. He's currently in Las Vegas on vacation and is going to a five night a week schedule when he comes back in a few days.

I watch some of the pros play SC2 on it just to see how crazy some of them are. One thing I have noticed is that too many people at the top take themselves way too seriously. They are fantastic gamers, but mentally I don't think the majority of them left high school despite being 23-25 years old.

I watch pro CS GO players play on twitch and used to watch Warcraft arena players. Mostly to learn from their play but it's also entertaining, if it is casted well.

Yeah I watch the high ELO league guys before I go to sleep for 30 mins to an hour, just watch a game or two learn some match ups.

I have a full time job and can't afford to play 12 hours a day to learn them all by playing so watching and listening to them talk about what they other players did wrong really helps with the learning curve in these games. There is over 100 champs and I only get to play about 5-10 games a week with working full time. If you listen to what they say you can learn a hell of a lot more from watching than playing.

Some people are pretty entertaining. It usually requires a group of people to make it interesting. They need to be funny and have decent mics.

I'd use to be like you are, but then I found entertaining streams. Watching someone play without anything else is usually boring. When they're always talking or interacting with others, it's interesting.

I forgot I do like to watch Robbas play, especially for his funny comments.
