Two CDRW Drives Installed - Nero Only Sees 1

I need some advice - Recently I installed another CDRW (Verbatim 32X12X40X) to my machine which already has a TDK Velo CDRW (24X10X40X) and I set the Verbatim drive to be a slave.

Nero and CDRWin will not see the Verbatim as a recorder, only a reader. What can I do to fix this?

Another unrelated question : After I burn a data CD with the TDK drive, I eject the CD and re-insert, hoping to see the data that I've burned on the CD. In explorer, the data doesn't show up. I have to reboot before the drive will see the data. Any ideas on this one?

I'm using Win XP Professional, 700 MHZ Athlon

are you using the full version of nero or one that came with one of your cd writers?
the ones that come bundled with a writer usually only work for that model writer and not for another model/brand.
hope this helps, or is it another problem?
is your aspi layer up to date?

Oh yes! That makes sense for the Nero (it came with the TDK drive). Hmm, but why won't CDRWin see the other drive either (well, it sees it as a reader but not as a recorder).

You need to reinstall nero. Load the latest version from linky there. With the version that came with your TDK there should be a serial number.
Uninstall the previous version, install new version with number that came with your copy, and Nero should work OK with both drives.

Do the same with CDRWin.

Adding new HW usually requires you to reinstall the software, as the drives are detected during setup.

Both the copies of nero I got with my CD Writers don't have a serial. Its a straight install. If your's is the same, you could try to upgrade the sw rather than uninstall and reinstall.
