I don't think I could pop one open on a flat surface that easily. Also, I don't think pieces of shells get into my eggs as often as he makes it out.
I used to always, and I mean always, crack eggs on the edge of a bowl or pan with no ill effects other than the occasional shell piece. Then, I began cracking them on a flat surface like a counter top and I've been doing so for years. Yesterday, I cracked a couple of eggs on a mixing bowl (not sure why I switched it up) and shell pieces fell into the food...maybe I've lost my touch :|

Wrong. The flat surface prevents small pieces of egg shell from breaking off. I can crack a dozen eggs in 10 seconds with this method. Everyone knows this.
The dude has all the mannerisms of a show magician. I wouldn't be surprised if its fake.
You don't crack eggs on the sides of things, you crack eggs on flat surfaces. Everyone knows this.
