Outside of the obvious motives and possible connections related to this event, there's a couple things that I'd love to know the background on.

1) When the FBI released the pictures/video yesterday did they already have an ID on these guys and already watching them? Did they released the video to simply end all of the internets speculation and media fumbling of things and to ultimately get these guys to move?

Or did the FBI simply not know who they were until the events unwraveled last night with the 7-11 robbing and then quickly tied things together?

Which is question 2) If you've been fingered as a bombing suspect and under the scrutiny of the entire US invesitgation bureau...why rob a gas station? Was it simple panic and an attempt to make a cash grab and GTFO out of Boston? I'd have to think that there would be more subltle ways to sneak out.

I believe the robbery was after the MIT police officer shooting, so they may have been running from the scene, robbed the 7-11 for money and car-jacked a vehicle from there.

i just don't understand why one would rob a 7-11. they hardly have any money in the registers and stuff. they have to get the money by entering codes 1 at a time into some weird ass safe that spews out a few big bills at a time. i've seen it plenty at 7-11 before. it would take forever to get any worthwhile amount of money from a 7-11.

Interesting observation... the robbery was kind of a stupid move. The only thing I can think of is that they probably thought they were safe. Having access on the internet seeing fingers pointed at others make you feel pretty secure. Then all of a sudden that safety net is pulled out from under you when FBI releases YOUR photos. Then you just start to scramble since all the resource you thought you had is suddently cut off.
