Just to be clear they guys were Russians from Kyrgyzstan, not Chechnya. They may have sympathized with the Chechens. Both appear to be LPRs and in the states for the past 7-8 years.

Just to be clear, they entered from Kyrgyzstan as refugees, but I am not seeing any debate regarding the fact that they are Chechen. There's also the fact that the older brother says in an interview that he is Chechan. So there's that.

They were both born in and grew up inKyrgyzstan. They may self identify as chechens or may be ethnically Chechens. They aren't from Chechnya and its unknown if they have ties to Chechen rebels.

They were born and lived in Kyrgyzsat before moving to Dagestan before immigrating to the US 7-8 years ago. This is from their family members.
You can judge a society by how well it treats its prisoners.
