Yes, and this thread is just littered with me saying the opposite. Physician, heal thyself.

And whenever the Trump admin has talked some new bullshit you've laid it out in an uncritical fashion.

I really don't care what Iran has said because they're the victims in this. They're being bullied & maligned. They were demonstrably in compliance with the JCPOA & everybody else in the 5+1 & the IAEA were perfectly pleased until Trump Co set out to fuck them. Because reasons & shit. Because thugs gonna thug.

That's a terrible thing to have to say about my own govt but it's the truth.

Really. Go read the thread again, do I need to cite post numbers for you? How uncritical is it for me to disagree repeatedly with Pompeo's specific words and emphasis? To cite the parts of his story that don't add up, both tactically and logically? I've already stated the US as the most likely culprit as aggressor, flat out said they were full of shit and had no credibility, but here you are still whining over my "uncritical fashion," puhlease.

There's room in my worldview for bad guys to exist both home and abroad, and your fashionable sensitivities aren't going to change that. If you have an opinion on how and why the Iranians would know about a limpet mine on a tanker, then go to retrieve it, completely with innocent intent, maybe try that instead. Looking at things like a creationist, starting with the conclusion, then working backwards, is not going to get any agreement from me.

I'm of the opinion that it's impossible to tell what was lifted from between the boat & the ship. To accept that it was a limpet mine requires a leap of faith. A big one, too. A small boat like that would also have a crew of 4 or 5, at most, but there are about twice as many people on deck in the video, consistent with a rescue operation. Oh, and while the Iranians were doing that they decided to pick up an unexploded limpet mine while they were at it. You betcha.

And now that Japanese ship has been towed to port in the UAE, where are the nice crisp close-ups of the damage, damage that isn't consistent with a limpet mine at all?

There are clearly multiple holes in the hull. A limpet mine makes one hole.

You have a truly remarkable will to believe.

There you go again, trying to make it about me yet completely ignoring the content of my posts. How many times have I said forensic investigation is needed and that I'm looking forward to it?

I'm asking questions, exploring motives, while you, Mr. I Don't Care are throwing proclamations around like John Bolton, because you know. Yet I'm the one with the remarkable will to believe? Ok, I think we're done here.

Jhhnn, I've enjoyed your posts for many years, but if this is the new norm with you, you are cordially invited to take your Trumpette mimicry and fuck off. I'd prefer you save this bullshit for the sock puppets who deserve it, but, whatever.

You don't get it. Your question, which I quoted, is the kind of question you've been led to ask via a campaign of disinformation. It assumes that the supposed limpet mine actually exists. Pompeo put that right into your mind with a contrived account of what was happening on the Iranian rescue boat. That blurry black triangle supposedly fastened to the side of the Japanese ship, the big red arrow & the "likely mine" caption are designed to accomplish the same thing.

You asked the right question in post #2 of this thread. The answer is that Iran has no reason to do this stuff & a lot of reasons not to.

Go back & watch the vid. Notice how it starts in the middle of the scene. What happened to the footage leading up to that? Why are there so many people on the boat? Why would anybody pull a UXO off the side of the ship & flop it on the boat deck like a sack of potatoes? Are you out of your mind? If such a thing actually existed they'd have dropped it to the bottom, pronto.

Why is there only one shitty image of the damage & the supposed limpet mine? It's perfectly obvious that the Bainbridge is capable of much, much, *much* better work than that. So why aren't we seeing it? Because we're being fed lies & distortions, that's why.

According to the shipping companies the crew of the Front Altair was rescued by a ship named Hyundai Dubai. That ship was surrounded and were forced to turn the crew over to the Iranians.

The crew of the Kokuka Courageous was told by a Dutch vessel, Coastal Ace, that something was stuck to their hull. The master of the Kokuka ordered the ship evacuated at which time the crew was picked up by the Coastal Ace and later transferred to USS Bainbridge.

In another reading of that,
The Dutch vessel took the sailors from the Kokuka aboard and moved to a safe distance.

The crew of an Iranian military vessel then asked the Dutch ship for permission to board, "so they could transfer personnel and render assistance to the crew. The Master of the KOKUKA spoke to the owner of his vessel and was instructed not to go aboard the Iranian vessel so he declined aid and thanked them."

Sounds like the one boat saw a bunch of Iranian vessels speaking in accent and got scared for no reason. Can't give too much weight to the word "demanded" when apprantly there are no repercussions to refusal.

That's totally contrived propaganda. Which Dutch vessel?

I'm not sure I feel an adequate amount of surprise here. It's happened before though, but then I've confused posters in the forums myself.

Thank you for the correction. It *was* Dank who was right from the start, not you at all. I gave you too much credit. My mistake.
