Two Questions

If any of you ever visit the General Hardware forum then you know that I've been debating the MSI and Leadtek 64mb GeForce2 PRO. Anyways, I ordered the MSI one and installed it just a few hours ago. I've been testing it during some Counter-Strike play and on 800x600 I'm still only getting 14.5fps, where my S3 Savage 8mb Card got 12fps. A 2.5fps advantage certainly isn't worth $160 to me, however, I did get a 1321 Benchmark on 3DMark2001.
That's where the two questions come in:
Question One: Does FPS depend anything on connection speed, because I think that with a 56mb upgrade of Video Card, I should be getting more than a 2.5fps improvement.

Question Two: Is 1321 a good Benchmark on 3DMark2001 with the following specs:
600mhz Compaq Presario Intel Pentium III Processor w/ 128mb of RAM
GeForce2 GTS/PRO (w/ latest drivers)

go into video modes and change it to OpenGL, you're currently in Software mode which doesn't use the vid card in the first place really....go to OpenGL mode...then you'll get 75-99 FPS

Ahh, thank you very much. I will try again It said for OpenGL that it should be like 640x??? though, and I like atleast a 800x600 screen.. And what source do I choose, "Default"?

acctually, you could probally run it at higher res then that. just try different settings and play around with it until you get something you like. and, yes, keep the driver as default.

EDIT: Have you tried oc'ing your card yet?

Nope, my fan suX0rz. Perhaps when I upgrade my CPU and Motherboard I'll get a new fan But as for now, 60fps is fine for me (which is what it gets now).

Direct 3D vs. OpenGL. I don't need Framerates over 60fps and quality is pretty important. I've seen great results with OpenGL, is Direct3D better?
