Two Way Radios

Which two way radios are the best? My roommate just bought two BellSouth two way radios from walmart, they were onsale for $20. THey are supposed to go up to 2 miles, just like most of them, but when we tested them out, they only went a max of 0.3 miles. Has anyone had any luck with any other ones (like the Motorola ones) that actually go over 0.3 miles?

where did you use the radios? if you used them out in the woods away from cars and mager trafic they get beter distence the best i'v used would have to be the motorola T6310 two ways.

I'd have to say, you get what you pay for. We use Motorola HT-1100 (or something like that). Much further range, but probably something like 10 timest the price.

Destructor - how much are the T6310s? Yeah, i was in my car driving around. I guess that's why they didn't get the best distance. What kind of distance do you get?

I dont know how much they are ill have to look around i got them as a present from a friend. i get out in the woods about 2 mile range. its got alot of fetures. its dead useful in the woods. i found the web site with the T6310 but it dosent say what the price is.

I got a pair of cobra's at target or something for 60bucks and they actually do go 2 miles.

I got three Panasonic FRS radios for $5.88 each including free shipping, not bad if you ask me. They're supposed to go up to 2 miles but I've only tested them at 1 mile and it's been crystal clear so far.
