I think the mini-team kinda went their own way, either to other projects, or their personal accounts. I know I started cracking under my own id again due to the MTRs and OD races.

After the MTR, I will have to throw a few WUs TWTA's way to get em to 10K.

IIRC, at one time in SETI Possessed_Freak, Osmo, and myself. I know there were a couple more members, and I apologize to them for not being able to think of them at this time, but my two brain cells are just refusing to work together today. :Q


BTW, nice dump today Confused. (it really is, as I would love to be able to amass that much quickly, with all my crunchers on it, it would take me 25 months. :Q)

I have gotten to my goal of TeAm top 30 and I am really close to my goals for top home users and US crunchers so I can shift some resources if need be

As I remember it was Ray and I against the Federation on TWTA, and since I had long been doing seti before joining TWTA (originally to help out in RC5) I decided that I would rather put WUs on my own account. What I mean is....After everybody left TA and TWTA for a variety of reasons TWTA just didn't have the same feel anymore, and I felt better giving my own account all the work. Especially since I was starting to drop in the ranks pretty fast.


Anyway, just water under the bridge now. Be sure to send my a PM when Your MTR race is over Ray. I would be happy to help put TWTA over 10k. If we can get some more participants (TA_rescueteam hint hint) we should be able to do it in record time. After that I want to crunch for my personal account, though.

I wonder how many of the current members even know what TWTA is about or how it got started.

Yeah, the last TWTA SETI race is was mostly me and Artemedes against the Feds.

After that we started cracking on our own again.

The MTR is done on the 31st of January, I'll switch over to TWTA after that and help get TWTA over the top. If you want to join in again at that time, Artemedes, you are moer than welcome.

Again, sorry for the loss of memory, Artemedes.

Don't whack yourself too hard. It's not really a big deal. Even though I have continued to run DC projects I have been practically non-existent around here lateley. You know what they say "out of sight out of mind".

I would be happy to help you put TWTA over 10K, although you might want to send me a PM reminder.


I would do a brief history of TWTA but I am afraid I was one of the last people to contribute. The people who started it did primarily to help out in RC-5 arena, and I am mostly a SETI person. Maybe someone else will give it a whirl.

IIRC, (and that's iffy since the whacking, ) The Team Within Team Anandtech was one of the first original mini-teams, started in RC5 by Possessed_Freak, mainly to allow mates with small home herds and low WU output to band together and compete with the big boys.

I joined the RC5 TWTA mini-team when the Phantom Flusher :| hijacked my personal RC5 account. After DNET's lack of support for Dave McOwen, I joined SETI as an individual, then cracked for TWTA as well when the SETI TWTA mini-team was formed. We raced the Feds and others. Some of the original team members left during the big Mod debacle when a number of people got banned.

After the last race, with just mainly Artemedes and myself contributing, he and I decided to go back to cracking under our individual ids.

And that, as much as I can remember, is a brief history, and I'm sure I've left some tidbits out.

As of 3am this morning, I have an XP 1600+ and as of a few minutes ago, an XP 1700+ on the job.

Got some stats for just about every popular DC contest. Any I dont have is because I didn't like the contest or thought that the client sucked.

Is there a limit to how many times the WU's from one account can be retired into another one in SETI? And how's it done?

With SETI2 around the corner, my own SETI WU's are a little pointless and would make it a lot easier to hit the target.

Technically speaking you can't merge accounts ,however unofficially it can be done if its for a good reason ,this is upto Eric at S@H,you'd need to email Eric Korpel (spelling??).I would guess he's very busy atm.And you'd be lucky to have accounts merged once,let alone anything more.

You just as well keep your seperate account ,shows that you have participated

As of this post TWTA has 9773 WU's. Looking at my WU submissions through OK's, it looks like I'll generate ~12 WU's/Day. That puts the timeline just under 3 weeks to 10K if I end up doing this solo.

Hey, I've BEEN around here.

But it is nice to see some of the old TWTA gang, Artemedes, VSS1980, and YOU Osmo.

Looks like TWTA will hit 10K before my personal account does, as I can only muster between 9 and 11 WUs per day, depending on when several of the slow PCs turn in a WU.
