If you have followed the reporting over the past year, historically reporting on weekends is not that accurate, simply because the bean counters have the weekend off.If you run out of beds and add more you end up with more available beds than last week.
If you admitted 1000 people last week. Ran out of beds at 800 people this week and told the rest sorry, no more room...that's not also a *real* decrease in hospitalizations last week. Right now it's hard to get objective assessments. Some states just aren't even trying (Nebraska I see...or rather...don't see you).

I can't imagine such a steward of public health as Abbott would issue public orders that put his constituents at risk while simultaneously using his station to take benefits the public isn't afforded.
That article makes it sound like there is racial discrimination in the manner in which healthcare is dispensed, and perhaps there is. But the most obvious explanation for lower spending on healthcare of blacks and Hispanics is that they make less money and therefore have less insurance.
If we had MFA tomorrow, I've got a feeling the spending disparity would mostly go away.
