Dual Channel Ultra160 SCSI is nice, so is dual onboard NICs and 5 PCI 64 slots I don't think this guy's going to be for the budget market

Only 4 DDR DIMMs though...I guess in theory you can have 1GB per slot...but still...8 would have been nice....even 512MB DIMMS aren't that common yet...

Yeah that's definately server material, not a cool toy for us tweakers. One of those with a load of DDR and a couple of 1ghz or 1.2ghz processors and some SCSI HDD's would totally scream as a server.

I wonder if anand is planning on mowing the farm over with a series of these boards for his servers? You know all those doods rocking p4's now are sheeeeting there pants after seeing those pics. HaHa Fkloster, Maybe someday you will have a chance at dually P4's too, but you'll have a better chance at planting tulips in my garden!

if I had enough money, that would be the board that I would get.. as it stands, that's the board I'd get for a server anyway, (so I'll just have to outfit that computer with more then just server parts!) hehe..

that is, IF I was building a server...

Anyways, I am wondering when your running dual birds do they have to be the same stepping or independent stepping? Like 1 blue core gig and 1 green core gig running in MP? I heard each cpu will have independent bandwidth too.

Its a server board man, its not even ATX. It has 64-bit PCI slots.... it looks WTX form factor to me.

Yes, each CPU has a dedicated 2.1GB/sec channel to the northbridge. No, you don't need the same stepping CPU's. Since the P2, you haven't needed the same steppings on Intel CPU's ether.

This board looks nice for us up until that integrated graphics part. I know it's supposed to be a server board and it's still got an AGP, but you know some early adopters here would shell out the dough to put on of these in a home system.

Actually I like the integrated graphics. It's not a unified memory system, the Rage has 4MB of dedicated RAM. Like you said, it is a server board so most people won't bother putting a NV20 in it or anything, but those who do want to can. It didn't add very much to the cost of the board, but definitly saves money for the server systems.
