I am trying to buy some ram for the new pc that I am building, but am at a loss for what type I need to get it to run the best that I can. The mother board has a max FSB of 333, so is the best I can do ddr2700? Also, do I need to specify the type of DDR that I get. I was looking to get a 512 stick for the time being on the for sale/trade part of the site, but I do not know if the ram that I might buy will work.
Is there a way to find out any of this? Shuttle has a .pdf on their site, and lists Apacer ram type pc3200, but when I check new egg it is listed as DDR400. When the max fsb is 333 would I be able to run this chip like it should be, or will it slow down my system?
If you had to buy ram and wanted decent stuff that was not going to be the bottle neck of your system what would you buy?
