I'm having an issue with my browser. As I scroll down on a new webpage the type starts to look hard to read. I've had this issue in the past, but I forget the solution. I thought it had something to do with ClearType and turned it off and then back on. The problem still persists. Help me out AT!

Thank you. I'm not sure what it was that was outdated that was causing the problem, but that did it. I'm running Firefox v19.0 by the way.

Still having the occasional problem with this issue. It has improved, but is still there. Just not all the time.

I finally decided to uninstall/reinstall Firefox. I saved my bookmarks first and then restored them. The problem has gone away for now. Thanks for your advice.

Hi bigboxes!

Before that problem occurred, did you uninstall a program that also had fonts installed? I'm asking because after I uninstalled Photoshop CS3 for the CS6, my Waterfox (64-bit Firefox) text is now blurry.

Hey bigboxes,

My wifes PC started having this exact same issue a week or so ago. Oddly, the text reverts back to normal if you hover the mouse cursor over the text. It's almost like moving the cursor over the affected text refreshes it and fixes it.

She does use Firefox, not sure what version. When I get home today I'm going to update Firefox and make sure all the plugins are updated as well. I'll let you know if that fixes anything...

I found a fix for this issue on the Mozilla Firefox forums:

In Firefox in the address bar type "about:config" and hit enter.
Click the "I'll be careful I promise!" button.
In the search box paste in the "gfx.content.azure.enabled" string and it will jump to that configuration item. Toggle it "false" by double-clicking it. Then close and reopen Firefox.

Another alternative is to disable Hardware Acceleration in the Options.

Yup. Described my issue perfectly. I have a Radeon 4890 and that sounds like the card range that is having an issue with the MS update.
