How about $6000 for 2 adults, 7 days? OUCH!!!
I'm still regretting we didn't chose Europe instead.
For that price.

Rained out one day.
2 hour wait at most of the popular Disney restaurants.
Made me want to buy stock in a baby stroller manufacturing.
Off season? Yeah right...
I felt like a captive of planet Mickey Mouse.
And no one gets out alive.

$6,000 as in 6k for 2 adults, no kids?

Wow I would have done Europe + Med/Greek cruise for 2 weeks instead.

Did you at least pay with a credit card that offers travel perks/rewards?

$6,000? Fuck that!

No trip within the continental U.S. is worth that much IMHO.

Let's be honest, the average american doesn't know what the fuck the word "budget" is. Hence the average wedding is $28k.

It isn't hard to get a hotel a little distance away for < $80/night. Instead they have to go with the full-resort hotel that they spend a whopping 1-2 hours in for 7 nights @ $300+/night = $2100+ right there.

... and yet most people RAVE about going to mickeyworld and each and every flight into MCO is full of tourists proclaiming "We're going to Mickeyworld!"

Please keep it a secret ... the local economy needs the funds.

However, despite the costs of going, I have never heard someone come back from Disney and say it wasn't worth the money. They all come back and talk about how amazing it was and they can't wait to go back.

when we went 2 years ago, no kids just 2 of us, we spent roughly 4.5k but we did not stay @ the resort. so 6k sounds about right if you're ON property entire time.

that included airfare, park tickets, hotel, food, misc shit.

and yea it was a blast, can't wait to go back again next year!

we will only go in oct/nov for the food and wine festival @ epcot, that was good times.

Yeah Disney is stupid expensive. 6k is def not worth it IMHO. Def European vacation instead. Disney is always packed, that is why there is a huge market for handicap people for hire.

It's clearly been a long time since I was at Disney. Granted I was only 5 at the time. Yeah, park admission is very expensive. Personally, I'd rather go to Europe or visit Japan for that kind of cash. Especially since I don't have kids.

After ticket cost, what the hell did you spend $$ on? Can we get a breakdown?

That's awfully high to me.

We went to Disney-world and had tickets for 3 days. We went one day and left the next. Gave unused portion to someone else. Too crowded, Too child orientated and we had no children with us to see the wonder in their eyes. After a beach holiday in Lauderdale it didn't ring our bell.

i priced it out with my 3 kids and it was about 8K. between the high price and the shitty wait times for rides we never went. It amazes me that so many people will pay that.

Wtf? You could do a week long trip to Hawaii or the Caribbean at a 4 star resort for way less.

Park tickets are:

Magic Kingdom = $95 for one day (adult) and $89 for one day (age 3-9)
EPCOT = $90 and $84 for one day

A 4 day ticket is $279 and $260 and you can visit one park per day.

So, the tickets are pretty expensive but not $3K each expensive -- it's not hard to find cheaper hotels and a take the bus.

The happiest place on earth ain't cheap is it!

It was about $5k (includes airfare) for my family of 4 to go last year for 7 days. Did you stay at the most expensive resort or something?
