Yeah, SolarCity has a couple deals out there, very well received. Others probably have them planned. I haven't gone in yet due to relative value (risk vs return on a variety of assets).

It's more about trying to monopolize corporate solar and minimize consumer solar so they can capture the market.

I firmly believe distributed solar is what is going to solve our energy problems until centralized clean power, like fusion, is possible. Even then, with some type of good storage technology, big projects might not be able to compete.

The point is the local socialists are pointing to the $30 million 'profit' and claiming the whole program is a success, when there is no way to determine if it was successful at this time regardless of the short term bookkeeping. IF someone who got one of these loans develops something great and revolutionary, then its a win, but not before.

The point of the loan's is not a revolutionary product development and it shouldn't be graded on such.

The mission of LPO is to accelerate the domestic commercial deployment of innovative and advanced clean energy technologies at a scale sufficient to contribute meaningfully to the achievement of our national clean energy objectives—including job creation; reducing dependency on foreign oil; improving our environmental legacy; and enhancing American competitiveness in the global economy of the 21st century.

That is the mission of this loan program as called for by Congress that authorized the loan program.
