I wouldn't say these guys were jerks. Back in those days, I'd imagine it was less likely for soldiers to be driving through city streets and suddenly, along with who knows how many Iraqi civilians, be hit by a roadside bomb or rpg.

no. back then the GI's were not getting hit with IED's and idiots with explosives straped to them.

I don't blame the guys in the humvee. they were doing waht they have to keep from staying in one place.

but damn Iraq needs a leason on driving and how to park etc.

Um, you are a moron. It has been pointed out in numerous threads that the vast majority of vehicles (not just humvees) have been armored for at least a year now, probably 2-3 (note, on-post only vehicles are exceptions).

Back when everyone was rasing a stink about the need to up-armor the humvees, about 80% of them in Iraq already did.

However the insurgents just made bigger bombs.

They are working on it. They are also looking at ordering over 4,000 new blast resistant vehicles in the next few months (to be delivered as soon as possible).

I do not post in threads that deal with Humvee armor nor do I follow up on it.
