I wouldn't say these guys were jerks. Back in those days, I'd imagine it was less likely for soldiers to be driving through city streets and suddenly, along with who knows how many Iraqi civilians, be hit by a roadside bomb or rpg.

Um, you are a moron. It has been pointed out in numerous threads that the vast majority of vehicles (not just humvees) have been armored for at least a year now, probably 2-3 (note, on-post only vehicles are exceptions).
