Good luck!

I hope that they can implement it on Intel platforms like they have done with this mobo in the below link.

Yes, the ASUS P5K-VM. Its getting good results from users. It OCs just a tab bit higher than the DS2R. About 500fsb. It doesnt have RAID though. It does however have the 1:1 divider.

Are there any AMD microatx boards that support linux and overclock well, other than the 6100 boards mentioned by Gary Key?

FT,
I think I might detect a note of sarcasm (or is it cynicism?).
Careful.
Next thing you'll be telling us that today's not Friday - or that "word has it....." , or, - asking "word from whom?"

Reading your "...a REVEALING hdd enclosure review......" comment, I figured I was missing the nuance since I hadn't read the article.

Been finding myself doing that (more accurately - NOT doing that, when it comes to reading articles) much more often these days - the editorial credibility chasm seems to widen on a daily basis around here.

The word "word" has many meanings as is evidenced in the prior exchange ("word has it" , "word from whom").

The one that REALLY matters, when betrayed, is the reason people stop reading articles (and eyeballs stop seeing ads).

Just takes some folks a little longer than others to finally "git it".

As the old saying goes:
Screw me (lie to me) once.......shame on you,
........twice............................shame on __

Sad to watch though. (especially when it involves broken hearts)

Why don't we entertain ourselves while we (still) wait... How about some jokes!

Have you heard this one:
How much time does it take an AT reviewer to change a lightbulb?

Hopefully not the 4+ months it takes to write a uATX review.
I guess the end of June, beginning of July comment really meant the end of July, beginning of August.

In the release notes for the latest Linux Nvidia Binary drivers there is this note:

# Added support for new GPUs:

* GeForce 7050 PV / NVIDIA nForce 630a
* GeForce 7025 / NVIDIA nForce 630a

So hopefully all the new 7050 mATX boards are now supported in Linux. I have read (can't remember where) that the Abit mATX motherboards were pretty good overclockers.

I'm not waiting for the matx review. I'm getting the ASUS P5K-VM mobo. I learned more from reading what people are actually using and testing than anything Gary's review might suggest/reccomend. If it was to come out that is.

That.....and the fact that the "people (who) are actually using and testing..."..................haven't burned their bridges.

Credibility......it's a terrible thing to waste.

If you're waiting for this review to see which board is able to display 1080i or 1080p smoothly, wait no longer. There isn't any.

Current chipsets can only work confortably up to 720p. It's not until next gen chipsets appear that we'll be able to play Blu-Ray or HD-DVD movies at full resolution.

I, personally, went for the M2NPV-VM for its Linux support and component-out. I don't have an HDTV just yet so I don't need HDMI or 1080p anyway.

This review is like the opposite of the Energizer Bunny: It keeps not coming... not coming... not coming...

For all the b1tching you all are doing about not seeing a review, you all could have worked something up yourselves by now.

Ease up on Gary, do you all really think he'd not come out with the review by now if there wasn't some reason for it???

Yeah, because it's our job to do this, and manufacturers send us the free components to review.

As a matter of fact, I do. The review has been discussed since early March and to date nothing has come of it. He'd be better off just saying that it was too complicated and be done with it. I believe Gary said he was dedicating the end of June and the first week of July to getting it done. Well, it is now the middle/end of July and not a word has been said about the review. I think he is just to embarrassed to post that it won't be done and is hoping we will all drop the matter.

...myself I'll just sit back and wait for my free high quality review.

I suppose the improper tense I used annoyed you as much as your nitpicking annoyed me.

Better?

But you said almost exactly that almost a month ago, and the month before that, and the month.... OK, you get the idea Chuck

It's almost as if you're related to Gary.
If you're not, can you lend me a few hundred $'s, I'll get it back to you next week, or the week after that, or...

What can I say, I'm patient. I still need to change my sig, as I did upgrade about a month ago to the full ATX Gigabyte 690G board, so I guess my need for the mATX review has diminished a lot.

However, before that, I was on a K6-3+ for years...so I have some experience waiting on getting a new rig.

And No, I'm not related nor do I know Gary.

Could it be possible that Gary is waiting on Intel G35 based motherboards? They're due 3rd quarter aren't they?

I say publish the article now and then do another review once the next generation of chipsets (Intel G35, Nvidia MCP78, AMD 780G) are released.

I've thought of that myself, if that's true, I cannot imagine why AnandTech would make that decision. A week or two for G3x sure, but months? No way...if that's what's the hold up, then by the same logic we should then wait for 790G from AMD.

It's easy to be patient when you have no vested interest in something. If however you do, it's extremely frustrating.
It's past the point of waiting on article content, it's now more about the fact that many 'publishing' dates have been stated and not fulfilled without any feedback as to why.

What if I told you I'd send some info by email and didn't, then promised I'd do it next week and didn't etc etc.
Your opinion of me would certainly be completely different to that which you'd have if I just came straight out and said 'Sorry, I can't do it and advise you seek the info elsewhere" - wouldn't it?
