Uber HOT PNY Geforce ti4200 64mg AGP (poss 128mg) 79$ at BBY (Dead)

I received a blue PCB 64mb 8X AGP card and a purpleish PCB 64mb 4X AGP card.

I tested the blue card and it runs stable at 300/594, 11,600 in 3DMark2001SE with my overclocked Athlon XP 1600 on an NForce2 board.

Now to test the purple card.

These will be good upgrades for the Geforce 2 MX's in my kids machines, although I will need to eventually replace their trusty BH6 mb's to use them

I got mine today too. It's the blue PCB rebranded Albatron Ti4280 with bare silver heatsinks. The only PNY marking is the sticker on the fan. I haven't run it through it's paces though.

so any idea on which one would be better(include warranty, just in case). i am considering to trurn/exchange one of my two (64MB) cards. should i return the rebranded Albatron one or the PNY one which has a plained fan ?

It's looking like the blue PCB Ti4280 is a keeper. I now own three Geforce4 Ti4200 cards. An XFX refurb from Newegg and 2 from this deal. Here are the 3DMark2001SE and overclocking results so far:


XFX Geforce4 Ti4200 64mb AGP4X - 11,405 @ 290/594

Blue PCB Ti4280 64mb AGP8X - 11,613 @ 300/594

Purple PCB PNY Ti4200 AGP4X - 11,127 @ 279/540

I don't see why anyone would want to take back the Blue PCB cards for $85 with no MIR if it overclocks to Ti4600 speeds.

I had gotten purple PCB (PNY) last November, and it did only 270/540. Besides it was $99 AR, so I returned it.
Now, I got blue PCB (Albatron) yesterday, and it's doing 285/570. I haven't tried anything higher, but for sure there is a bit more headroom. For $79 w/o rebate, I think this is a steal.

Bought an open-box at the BB in Victorville, CA today (was still sealed in bag though) for $159.99 instead of $169.99. Took it back home to the Fullerton Best Buy and asked em for the deal of the $40 instant and $40 mail in rebate. They looked at me like I was weird. I grabbed the tag off the shelf. She looked at it and said "Oh...this was expired back on 4/5/03 but since we still had it up there I have to give you the deal. So she refunded me the difference of that and $89.99 so no need for me to wait for any mail in rebates!!!
