These "I heard voices" excuses for bad behavior are getting old and I wonder if we can ever prove how legit those stories are.
There was a 17-year-old kid here who decided to shoot another kid in a department store and started blasting away. Hit his intended target, plus both members of a couple who simply happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and were badly wounded.
Kid gets arrested a few hours later. Next day in jail he gets a phone call from a woman who tells him "When the doctor comes, say you hear voices I aint even trying to be funny neither. Say I have a battle within myself, I hear voices. I see things. I dont give a damn what you say, but you better make sure you act like youre a [expletive] nut ball." (phone calls to prisoners are recorded)
Guess what defense his attorney is pursuing, based on the doctor's evaluation?
