UBS question....USB2 or plain USB?

Hi
I bought a HP printer PSC 950. It did not have aUSB cable.
I bought a Belkin USB2 Gold series cable.
If the printer does not support USB2, then the transfer rate will be at 1.1 level eventhough it is a USB2 cable?
It costs more, so I was thinking of returning this and buying the regular USB cable.

Yes as USB is backward compatible

I would return it and buy a typical USB1 cable and save some money.

Pay LESS and buy USB1.1?

If you plan on aquiring USB2.0 devices then go for it but right now if you have USB1.1 and just those type of devices then take it back if you want the funds
