So my friend tried to install CentOS 5.1 and ran into some problems.
The initial installation screen came up, hit enter to select Grphical linux, it then scrolled a couple of diagnostic messages before giving a screen which included <page_fault> and other ominous looking messages. That is as far as it went.
Tried to install ubuntu, that failed too. Selected the "Try out first" option, in English. The following screens popped up after 15 minutes.
Hard reboot, switched to the CentOS iso. The following screen appeared after hitting Enter to choose the graphical installation:
This is on a laptop that has run vista for 8 months. These two installs are from two seperate iso's on two seperate cds. Ran memtest for 8+ hours, and it checked out ok.
Any ideas?
