Damn you beat me to it. You're right, rape is not about sex, it's about power. Thus legalizing prostitution would not decrease rape cases. In fact it'd probably go up. Instead of being forced to go find a victim, the rapist is able to go buy one now. The whole institution of prostitution already reduces the female to a level lower than the rapist which is why prostitutes are appealing targets. The same applies to minors because in the eyes of the rapist minors are weak and inferior. Congrats, you've just made more victims available.
I think it's sick what he's done. I think locking him up and allowing the inmates to do with him what they will is the perfect punishment. Let him be on the other side, let him be the powerless one, let him experience what it is to be the victim.
And no, this girl will never recover. Do you think she'll ever approach sex in a normal manner? Do you think she can handle being a mother? Her life, her future, her family, everything has been destroyed by this. Death would be the easy way out because it's final, you don't have to live with this type of pain. Rape is worse than murder.
And as far as standing up for my fellow man, I do my part in that. I object to man bashing. I think feminists go a little too far sometimes. But when a man rapes a woman, and in this case a child, he ceases becoming a man. He becomes less than human. He is scum, and that I do not stand for.
