There are many more fighters fighting for other promotions who showed more skills, are more experienced, achieved more in the sport, and showed more heart than Brock. The only thing elevating Brock above these guys is being in Zuffa. Werdum, Fedor, Overeem and Barnett are all proven fighters and are all above Lesnar. The only two HWs within the UFC who could challenge these guys would be Cain and JDS. Heck I would even put Rogers ahead of Brock going by the range of skills they have shown and their fight experience.
I'm not saying only UFC has good fighters, but UFC has the vast bulk. I've watched every SF event, every UFC event, I even ordered Shark Fights 14 last month.
People get fooled into believing that UFC has the best talents simply because UFC fighters are not allowed to fight the champions from other promotions. Look at Anderson Silva for example, he is undefeated in the UFC but was just an average fighter outside. All of Andersons losses were fights outside the UFC. Another example is JDS who is again undefeated in the UFC however his only loss came from an M1-Global event.
My point is that there are many top fighters outside the UFC who are relative unknowns to American MMA fans. We will NEVER see how good these fighters actually are because Zuffa refuses to co-promote with other promotions.
It's not like he lost to a chump, nobody outside of the UFC would beat Cain right now. So Brock loosing to him has zero indications of him as a fighter. As for being "one dimensional" he came out with some pretty good knees and threw some strikes, he also got a take down, and his last fight he won by submission. Brock's still top 5 EASILY even after last night.
I like Cain and think that he is a legit HW fighter, however Strikeforces top fighters would easily give Cain a very good fight. Fedor, Overeem and Barnett are just some of the Strikeforce fighters would could defeat Cain.
Brock IS NOT a top 5 fighter or even a top 10 fighter.

Compare the K1 level striking of Overeem to Brock and youll notice a chasm of difference.
You act like beating Randy your 4th MMA fight is a walk in the part. Randy's still game and I'd pick him over a good number of opponents.
-Randy has 19 wins and 10 losses, even for MMA his win-loss ratio is disgraceful.
-Randy had a very long layoff prior to the Lesnar fight
-Randy is now 47 years old
-Randy was outweighed by a huge margin (should be fighting in LHW).
In short, Randy was a gimme fight given to Brock to boost up his credibility and marketability.
