Anderson Silva (No. 1 MW, No. 2 PFP) vs. Yushin Okami (No. 3 MW)

Mauricio Rua (No. 2 LHW, No. 9 PFP) vs. Forrest Griffin (No. 6 LHW)
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Brendan Schaub
Ross Pearson vs. Edson Barboza
Raphael Assuncao vs. Johnny Eduardo
Spencer Fisher vs. Thiago Tavares
Paulo Thiago vs. David Mitchell
Yuri Alcantara vs. Felipe Arantes
Mike Swick vs. TBA
Luiz Cane vs. Stanislav Nedkov
Rousimar Palhares vs. Dan Miller

Forrest aint shit, Shogun got this one in the bag

Don't know who the hell Pearson is but Barboza has leg kicks of doom
Pearson will get kicked back into his mothers womb
I respect the Miller brothers but this Matt Hughes wrestleboxer is gonna get subbed by treestump
I'll be praying for Okami to win but he's gonna get roasted like Snoop Dogg did Trump

You don't know who Pearson is, yet you are sure Barboza is going to beat him? That's some blind nuthugging right there. For all you know, Pearson could be a K1 champ or something. I agree that Edson will win actually. Pearson was on TUF, he was either winner or runnerup I think. Decent boxer (not much for kicks) with little ground game similar to many UK fighters.

Swick is actually off the card now too, blew up his knee or something.

I really really hope NOG subs Schaub. I still have faith in 1 of the last big 3 HW from Pride. (Actually I don't think Fedor is "done" as others think either but that's another topic).

I think you sell Forrest a little short as well. If he can take Shogun deep, Shogun has shown that his cardio is not always top notch. I believe Shogun will win, but I never count Griffin out.

Anderson will indeed beat Okami. Okami has nothing that Anderson hasn't seen and beat already.

If Pearson was a K1 champion I'd know, but now that I know hes a tuffer I'm even more confident hes gonna get destroyed.

Kenny Florian was a tuffer and beat Nunes who is Brazilian
Forrest was a tuffer and held the LHW belt and also beat Shogun, who is Brazilian
Evans was a tuffer who beat Chuck, Rampage, and Thiago Silva (Brazilian)

Being a tuffer doesn't mean anything other than an easier path into the UFC. Granted the past few season of TUF talent has been lacking though....that's putting it nicely, it has been horrible.

Nunes isn't on Edson level.
Forrest win over Shogun was a fluke; Shogun had double knee surgery and barely even trained cardio.
Rashad Evans is the most legit TUFer, I respect Rashad.
Thiago Silva is not top tier.

shogun has it, he will dominate and win just like the last fight!

never count forrest out. i don't think he will win but the guy has heart and can take a beating. he can beat shogun..again.

i would love to see nog win. I hate shuab but i think he will take it.

Silvia has it IF he decides to fight. the guy is amazing when he wants to win and not goof off.

Oh geez....you are a serious blind fanboy of so many things you can't see the truth or admit when you are wrong. You just claim PRIDE, Brazil, K1, BJJ blackbelts, etc. are far better than any US based UFC guys in order to try and sound "elite" (sorry, just my opinion, there are million dudes on Sherdog like this).

I never said Nunes was on Edson level for 1 thing. I simply stated you cannot discount a "tuffer" just b/c was on TUF. Some are very legit. I was trying to point out the fact that you pick your wins and you didn't even know (or bother to find out) who the other guy even was. I know Thiago isn't top tier, but my point was that Evans was a tuffer. You can't say you are confident a tuffer is going to get destroyed vs a Brazilian when you don't even know the guy's skillset.

And yes I know about Shogun's knees and cardio, doesn't mean Forrest still didn't win and can't win again. Nobody comes in 100% and if Shogun didn't think he was ready he shouldn't have fought.

I do think Shogun will win violently this time around though. He's back with his old trainer and is probably embarrassed about tapping out to Jones. He will be back fighting for the title in 2-3 fights tops IMO.

I'm excited to see Palhares get back in action too. I wonder why the relegated him to undercards after going to decision with Hendo and then brainfarting vs Marquardt. The guy is exciting.

No, I'm not delusional.

Tyrone Spong and most if not all kickboxers / MT fighters would get wrestlefucked if they fought at 185/205 in MMA.
Nog, despite my respect, WILL lose to Schaub ( who's fighting style is NFL )
Wandy is washed up, done.
Cro cop is washed up, done.
Nog is washed up, done.
Gomi is not the best LW. I do not consider him to be #1 or #2 GOAT LW, while other nuthuggers would.

Silva will beat Okami. Don't think Okami stands a chance.

I wanna see Forrest beat Rua again, but I know that won't happen.

Has it been a year already? Or, are you up to 3 years now?

Depending on what the odds are, I'd put some money on Okami. He's got a great grappling base and people describe him as very, very strong. Sonen showed that strong grapplers can beat Silva (if they've actually trained BJJ defense a day in their life - Okami's got a Black Belt in Judo). Okami hasn't been finished since 2003 (his only TKO/KO/Sub loss).

I wouldn't put Okami's victory over Silva as a +, simply because it was a DQ victory. It probably will have mental implications, though.

If the betting line goes as I think it will, it might be a worthwhile risk...

I think Okami has a shot at taking this. He's has been training with Sonnen and Sonnen will no doubt tell him to be in Andersons face all night and actually "fight" him. Anderson is in decline, people just dont see it yet because he's won his fights. But look at his last 3 wins. 1 was a fluke, 1 he didnt do anything, and 1 he got beat on for 5 rounds and pulled out a last minute sub.

Also.. the best fighters in the world come out of the USA.. not Brazil. Quit being a homer Woosta.

The real question here is, will Silva feel this guy is a challenge and put on a fight, or will he act like a tool like he has in other fights?

I think shogun wrecks forrest, schaub wrecks nog (as much as I'd like to see Nog win, don't think it's happening). I think the most competitive fight is okami and silva. Obviously silva has the edge, but okami has a real good shot at beating him, more than chael i think.

As for the legit tuffers, there have been quite a few legit guys out there: Koscheck, Schaub, Evans, Diego, Forrest, Florian, and a few others. Are they GOATs? Absolutely not, but to say they aren't/weren't legit contenders is rediculous.

Anderson has great speed and reflexes. If he controls the range, and stuffs&sprawls most of the take downs, he should have another successful title defense.

Shogun looks to be in great shape, and you have to like his chance here. He has power, great stand up, and a iron jaw. The big hole in his game is take down defense. Worse yet, he gasses quickly anytime it goes to the mat. I also have to wonder about how well his knees will hold up when he kicks.

Forrest has his own issues, and eating too much punishment is his biggest. He needs to show better movement, and continuously pressure Shogun. If he can stay off queer street long enough, he should be able to wear Shogun down and get a W.

In the end: I like Anderson to have another successful defense, and Forrest by decision. Which means you can expect me to go 0 for 2 here, after that horrible Fedor prediction I made.

I think this is one of those matches that if Shogun wins, it has to be in the first, or early 2nd round. I think he wins, but the longer it goes, the more it favors Forrest. I love shogun, but his cardio has failed him more than anything. I know its caused by the knee surgeries in the past, and he's healthy now, so maybe it won't be a factor this time around...we'll see.

Agreed. The best part is, it should be a barn burner fight. Because neither of these guys come to dance, lay and pray, or wall and stall.

BTW, Paulo Thiago needs this win badly. He will probably get his walking papers if he loses. Mitchell has not exactly been facing top competition either. So, I think they are finally throwing Paulo a bone.

On a sidenote, I got my tickets to the next round of the Strikeforce Grand Prix!! Pretty good ones too, close to where the fighters walk down the ramp.
