Main-event winner Alistair Overeem ($385,714.28) and fellow heavyweight headliner Brock Lesnar ($400,000) were the top earners at Friday's UFC 141 event.

The duo accounted for 57 percent of the night's official $1,369,714.28 fighter payroll.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) obtained the salary figures from the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Friday.

I really don't see anyone in the UFC beating Overeem right now. You can't take him down and I don't care how good your striking is it's not HW Champion K1 level striking. K1 striking is so far ahead of what the UFC has to offer it's not even funny except for a few guys like Silva, GSP.

Overeem has a issue with wrestlers. Brock didn't do shit to push the pace and try takedowns. he stood and tried to bang silly move with him

Shane, Cain and JDS all i think have a far better chance against him then Brock did. All can take a punch and have good wrestling/BJJ. All are more experienced and are smarter in the ring (more experience).

same. JDs is a different type of fighter though. FAR FAR above brock its not even funny. the guy has power, speed, GREAT BJJ and wrestling.

the top 5 in the heavyweight devision are tough though. any of them can beat the other.

While I would say that overall Overeem's striking is more technically proficient and his power everywhere (hands, legs) is probably as a whole greater than anyone else, the fact remains that any of the top guys in the heavyweight division have enough power to effectively end the fight with one well placed glove. That means on any given night, it could be anyones fight.

IMHO, JDS has awesome hands, has better speed, and more importantly timing & distance control. This makes him a dangerous opponent for Overeem. He also has better head movement than Overeem. Overeem covers very well, but in general that works better with big-glove sports like K1 than the UFC.

Either way, I'm really looking forward to that fight.

I've spent more time the gym in my life than you buddy. I remember you posted pics in the H&F forums last year and you were extremely skinny so I believe you could put on weight quickly. You also probably never worked out before so you benefited from all the easy beginner gains which Overeem can't claim. Bump this post in a year and tell me how easy it was to gain the next 30lbs unless you are gonna be one of those guys who just gets fat and claims they are bulking.

It's also pretty crazy that his supper genetics kicked in right after the Buentello fight in 2007.

I don't think anyone is saying you CAN'T gain 30-40lbs of muscle. The problem with Overeem is that he gained it extremely quickly. And there comes a point where your body plateaus and gaining even 1lb of muscle becomes very hard to do. I went from 150lbs to ~210lbs (400lb bench and ~500lb squats), however it took me a long time to do it (I'm guessing about 6-8 years). Never took steroids but I can pretty easily tell when someone is using (been around plenty of guys at the gym that do it). And let me tell you, Overeem is using. If he passed a drug test, it's because he's using a steroid that the test didn't pick up. But make no mistake, he's using. I don't need a drug test to tell me that.

That being said, he's still one of my favorite fighters. And quite honestly, most of the MMA world is using. It's just not as in your face as Overeem.

Lesnar is a helluva ppv draw. He may not have faired well fighting lately, but it's an entertainment business and he was very successful getting ufc viewers to pay up. If he wanted to stay, there's plenty of room for him, just not at the top.
