What's the over under here that Holly has abused, and was potentially on steroids for this fight? Anybody see that close up of her crotch area at weigh ins?? Jesus.. Any pics of her crotch area during the fight? Ronda is in pretty good shape, but Holly is legitimately jacked, even for a woman.

Not trying to start anything here, but I'm wondering if anybody else has seen those pics and what they think about it.

considering she has been boxing most her life and tested pretty tough i doubt it. Even the UFC has went to Olympic style testing recently. So if she was on anything i doubt it. sure she is jacked. but many in womens sports are jacked if you really paid attention.

enlarged clit? that's the evidence? you do know that happens naturally in some women right?

until a test comes out saying she was on peds shit like this does nothing besides cause idiotic drama.

Rousey rise and reign kind of, just a little bit reminds me of Brock Lesnar.

Both are pretty much one trick pony's. Bullied and bull rushed their opponents and seemed unbeatable. Until they face a complete fighter.

For Brock it was Valesquez who made him look foolish and started his path to retirement. Will Rousey's follow suit after her really weak standup was exposed by Holm?

Regardless of what happens with Rousey the fight will cause a very fast acceleration of the level at which women's UFC fights will take place. I think until Holm we've been watching some really weak standup, at least at this weight class.

though brock had medical issues that caused his retirement. While Valesquez beat him it wasn't the start or cause.

This. Even though I was not too enthralled with Brock originally cause I was one of the MMA haters who wanted to see a Professional Wrestler get beat, Brock had tons of potential.

Woman's MMA is still a joke to me, Holm's came in the fight 9-0 and was still a 15-1 underdog?

wait.. bet $100 on holms and u get $1500?!
no way

Rhonda was 1-12 favorite.
bet $1200 to win $100.

bet both sides and u cant lose $?

Velasquez is the greater fighter by far, but only the rematch will tell if any injuries or lack of will mean that Velasquez is not the same anymore.

I have a totally different opinion based on these facts.

The guys that Brock beat were either a lot smaller than him (Couture), low skill level fighters like himself but less physically gifted (Carwin), or got caught by his bull rush followed by headlock and punches (Mir, 2nd fight).

Brock was nowhere near the top of the HW division and his devastating losses to Cain and Overeem proved that fact. You can think what you want about his medical issues but it was evident from his last two losses that he would never compete among the top of the division. And he knew it. Cain, Overeem, Dos Santos, Werdum, all guys that spent years and years training MMA and were miles beyond him in that game.

Seriously, who did Brock beat of note? Mir was most impressive but Mir is a slow starter and perfect "bait" for Brock. None of the guys he beat have been a factor in the HW division for years a years.

I was and am a Brock Lesnar fan. He's a monster, supremely gifted, and down right scary. But let's face it he was no more than a B level fighter in the UFC despite getting a lucky road to the title. If he started kick boxing and JJ at age 15 he could have been amazing I'll grant you that. But he didn't and what I wrote above is the reality of it. He's a great sports entertainer, but a great competitor, at least when it comes to MMA.

his loss in ufc 188 was due to the high altitude which sapped his cardio.
verdum was there for months and got used to it.

guess from a strategy standpoint, verdum was superior.

It's just a question man, don't get your panties in a bunch. Chicks don't get giant ass genitals "naturally" like that. All I asked was if people saw the pics, and their opinion.

She could have been on stuff 3 months ago to get her strength and conditioning through the roof, then cycled off. Tests are not 100%.

Watching Brock fight~ when he was getting hit his whole demeanor changed. From a Tiger to a pussycat. You can tell between a good fighter that can take some hits vs one that gets frazzled.

That was something fairly easy to overcome though. I mean, it is likely Brock had never actually been hit before and wasn't experienced in not being the dominant fighter.

The real problem, minus the health concerns, was he hadn't been doing MMA for years and was already a big name. Had he been exactly the same and not well known, he'd still be in the UFC and still be getting undercard fights working his craft. But the UFC is a business and wouldn't make money doing that.

Its amazing to me people think Ronda's game plan was to box Holly... The fight I saw was Ronda rushing her trying to get close to take downs and throws. The problem was this time she was getting smashed in the face by a skilled boxer who was able to evade her or counter at every turn.

I thought ronda was a boxer, i mean how else would get on the cover of ring magazine...

I just watched the full fight after seeing the highlights over the past few days.

Ronda got her ass kicked and was nearly outclassed. Holly seemed too skilled for her and Ronda needs to work on a lot of areas.

so Rhonda is a sub specialist but her way for take downs is judo throw instead of the usual lunging for the opponents legs?

wouldn't it be easy to train her in other forms of take down?!
heck, shouldn't her coach have trained her in other forms of take downs since she's defended her title multiple times?!

I just watched Holm fight Marion Reneau, her last fight, and while she definitely won, it was a decision after 3 rounds. Holly fought the perfect fight against Rousey, but I also think she fought the perfect opponent. Rousey's style played perfectly into Holm's strengths, and defensively Holm was able to do enough to neutralize Rousey's capabilities. I would expect Holm to beat Rousey again, but it will be harder against other top opponents who are more patient and have a balance of skills. In the Reneau fight, Holm avoided the ground game like the plague, even when she had some big opportunities. To ignore or not be able to take advantage of opportunties in mma like that, she trims her margin of error quite a bit imo. It also showed how little confidence she has in her ground game.

Thanks for the link, I just watched it. I actually thought Holm looked sharp with her punches/kicks while fighting the smart fight. It was almost like she was just toying and coasting through the 3 rds.
