sure but he will need to shed muscle and go back to 145. Defend his belt and then look at options. 155 maybe but hes gonna run into diaz again. And at 170 he has nick to deal with (he would drop from 185 to bring the pain).

He said he would see Nate again, some have said thats a hint for a rematch.

And they will see each other at 155.

Conor also called out Aldo and RDA for talking shit. "I showed up to fight, you showed up on Twitter" or something like that.

Nate said a few days ago "you knocked out 3 midgets and got all pumped up. I fight grown men all the time" LOL He fucking took it to Connor, while Nate's good as shit, imho he's like somewhere high top 10'ish. Connor would get MAULED if he's dumb enough to right again @ 170. IMHO if he drops to 155 RDA will KO his ass. Will be interesting to see what he does. He use to look like Skelator on weight in nights @ 145. Now with all this new found muscle he's put on in the past few months I don't see how he could make even 145 again.

Ronda loses
Sage loses
now Connor loses?

Dana's absolutely shitting himself.

If Meisha beats Ronda, which I think she could do. He might actually commit suicide. I will shit my pants if he still gives Connor an immediate shot at the 155 belt. Which I have a feeling he might do. Connor looked like shit, he got out struck and got demolished on the ground. It's sad he was so lost trying to stand with Diaz he took down a fucking BJJ wizard. That hype train crashed badly lol.

Were we watching the same fight? Connor was lighting up Diaz until he got stunned by one punch and never recovered.

Conor says he would still take fights at 170.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muKzktfPwZ8
He said he'll fight anywhere at any weight (when referencing the 170) but later in that interview he mumbled really fast (if you can catch it at 2:01): "I think I'll go down and take that" referring to all his foes asking to fight him for the belt at 145. The he referenced Aldo making fun of Conor losing and said "maybe I'll go back down and shut him up one more time". This tells me that he's definitely going back down to 145. Let's face it, Conor's ego is so dam big that he's going to go back to the weight class that made him a star. This jumping 2 weight classes was just his ego experimenting and now that experiment is over. He realizes he's a nobody at 170 where his punches won't do damage and he loses a significant height and reach advantage. However, at 145 he hits with elite power with elite reach advantage - he's not stupid. Plus Dana White will push for him to go back to defend the belt at 145 since title fights are a much bigger draw than non.

It's not just like that in the womens division. The champion gets paid min 500k i believe. The other fighters it's based on amount of fights.

the whole fighter pay situation is fucked up.

heard that dana wanted an immediate rematch between holms and Rhonda but holm's manager nixed it.
analysis said that holms would have made 8 figures for this fight if she accepted!

holy!!!!

there was no immediat rematch. RR was out for at least something like 8-13 months. she was booked to do movies and TV shows.

HH didn't want to wait that long.she is older and wants to fight while she still can.

Were we watching the same fight? Connor was lighting up Diaz until he got stunned by one punch and never recovered.

Conor won round 1 easy, and he looked good in the beginning of round 2, but it quickly went downhill from there. He didn't take Nate down and give up because of getting hit once. Nate was landing his jab over and over and gave his ass multiple Stockton Slaps. Conor was gassed, looked lost and threw in the towel by taking down a guy who has elite BJJ. Conor SUCKS on the ground. Nate's face got fucked up, but he was never in any sort of danger. Conor was wobbled multiple times and got fucked up.

Nate on the Fox Sports show when they showed the clip of Connor taking him down and pulling guard
"ohhh really, you're a wrestler now??" I usually don't care for Nate's piss poor attitude, but he seemed laid back and pretty amusing last night. And I love how he didn't play kiss ass to Dana and pretend like he beat one of the best. He told it like it was, he has 26 fights and Conor has 6 fights and was more hype than anything else. He didn't hype up the win at all.

diaz hit him with more then one punch man. The diaz way is to flurry you with half power strikes and then mix some power ones in there. Conor got his with some bombs among them.

Conor proved in this fight he's an elite striker, even against a bigger opponent. However, bigger opponents are used to heavier hits to the head. He needs to just sit back and chill in his natural 145 division and reign supreme. There's nothing wrong with staying in your weight class and dominating, look at Jones, GSP, Silva, Ortiz, Hughes, Liddell. Especially in UFC it's hard to go up weight classes and succeed. One good example is when BJ Penn also went up to welterweight and was TKO'd by GSP.

The only reason he took this fight was because he was bored and there were no elite contenders in his own weight class who were available to fight.

Conor is going to go back to 145 and defend the belt. I bet it's Frankie Edgar. Then there's Aldo to demolish again. After 2 defenses, I could see him moving back up to 155. 170 is just him not saying there's a limit to his success.

Yea Nate's a smack talker and may rub people the wrong way, but he tells it as he sees it. Pretty much true how Conor gets so much push while a lot of other fighters are put on the back burner.

Very happy Nick put that other loud mouth in his place.

So you don't give conor any credit for going up 2 weight classes in 3 months to fight a bigger, heavier, longer reach fighter who is more way more experienced to boot? That takes balls. Win or lose conor should command respect for doing that. He didn't do half bad either in the first.

heavier? I thought both were at 168lb walking weight?
longer reach? pfft.. 2" more which mean 1" more per arm

I will give you more experience tho.
but conner beat aldo who also had far more experience than he did

Reach was a significant advantage for Nate Diaz because he was also taller, and that put his reach at shoulder height right at the face of Conor McGregor.

Connor usually has a bigger physical advantage over everyone at 145 than Nate had over him. Its why Connor fights at 145. He should be at 155, but at 155 physically he would be average. Its like someone like Pettis or Melendez or even RDA fighting at 145.

I feel like it the situation sort of negated each other out.

Conor went up 2 weight class, Nick went up 1 and had no training camp.

I really want to see the Dos Anjos vs Conor. I thought Cerrone vs Anjos was going to be a good fight, but Anjos tore through Cerrone.

Hell, I think Cerrone would give Conor a hell of a fight.

Connor was just too used to demolishing guys with his punches and hadn't ever fought someone as powerful as Nate. He was just used to being able to absorb punches long enough for his left hand to take out his opponent. He just bull rushed Diaz and didn't play defense. Really stupid of him. If he had attacked Nate's lead leg and been more patient with his punches, he would have had a great shot. If/when connor moves back up to 155, I see him fighting with an actual game plan, lol.

All that being said, congrats to Diaz for a monster win and a monster payday.
