I really want to see the Dos Anjos vs Conor. I thought Cerrone vs Anjos was going to be a good fight, but Anjos tore through Cerrone.

Hell, I think Cerrone would give Conor a hell of a fight.

RDA beat Diaz convincingly too. Not to mention Pettis. I think Conor would have had the same issue with RDA that he had with Diaz in that he would have overestimated his punching power and blew his wad early. Anyways it would have been a good fight, but I think RDA would have KO/TKO'd Conor in two or three.

Conor is good, but he kinda bought into his own hype a bit. It appeared he was thinking he would walk through RDA or Diaz then challenge Lawler at UFC 200. But you never know, Diaz might just be a bad matchup for him because he can take a lot of punishment and has great boxing and jujitsu.

One funny thing I heard in the presser when talking about Aldo's tweet after the fight was that he was going to go back to 145 and remind everyone what he did to the division. I kinda want to see that rematch more than Conor at 155. I always thought that was somewhat of a fluke and the fans were kinda cheated out of a great fight.

If he had attacked Nate's lead leg and been more patient with his punches, he would have had a great shot.

Yeah, I dont get why he didnt do that. I thought he would kick Nates leg over and over till he couldnt stand, then finish with punches. But it really does seem like everything he does is just to disguise his left hand.

He needs to just sit back and chill in his natural 145 division and reign supreme.

There's nothing 'natural' about weighing roughly 170 naturally and cutting as much water as possible so that the day before the fight, he can fit a 145 weight limit.

The sport is what it is though.

he isnt natural 168 (thats what he weighed) He is probably walking around at 158-160 for his normal 145lb stuff and cuts it over a week. He added muscle over the last couple months to go to 155. He will need to drop that muscle and cut weight. No way will he be able to carry that weight and cut.

how does someone who cuts 15% weight (25lbs if you're 170) recover 24hrs before fighting Aldo again since IV's are now outlawed in UFC?

and that's why i don't think he stays at 145 long. Not because as Jstorm keeps saying "he gained to much muscle" LOL but hydrating back is going to be a bitch. No way he is going to be 100% for the fight. I suspect we are going to see more fighters swap weight's

I was never a fan of such drastic cuts. It plays hell on the body.

That is an understatement waggy. Weightcutting is basically torturing your vital systems, with sometimes all too predictable results.

? He gained muscle for his fight with RDA. Its been reported. He will need to shed that new muscle and do a weight cut. Keeping that muscle on AND doing a weight cut will be too much.

Yeah, Connor was way too cocky and overestimated his punching power. He didn't gameplan, and even says that he trains for the body, not the fighter. We'll see how long he does that for. RDA would have kicked Connor like he did cowboy and would have won in the 2nd or 3rd.

RDA beat Diaz by attacking his lead leg b/c Nate just plants that leg out front to extend his reach. Connor should have mixed leg kicks in with punching in the first, taken a break in the 2nd and just focused on his leg, then put the gas on the 1st. The way he fought was really stupid and arrogant.

Srsly.

I want to see Connor go back down to 145, beat Frankie, Crush Aldo, then fight Diaz at 155 with a fucking reasonable gameplan, lol.

frankie is no joke. I wouldnt count him out.

Mendez with a full camp could beat him, Aldo could too. Jose got caught which is no indication of how a rematch would play out. Cain got caught, and he came back twice smashing JDS into bits both times. Even at 145 Conor's not invincible. But with all the sudden muscle he's magically put on since fighting Chad I don't see how he could make the cut now, it was tough enough for him before he bulked up. The top 5 155's all pick him apart. His hype train's just about totally broke down. Frankie would push his shit back. Dana will need to find a new golden boy soon imho.

Cain had a very bad knee injury in the 1st fight, which was the main reason he lost. Also unlike what many like to brag and think, JDS never knocked out Cain. That haymaker no more knocked out Cain than it did Mark Hunt. Cain might have went out had the ref not stepped in and stopped the ground and pound however, but for all we know maybe Cain could have survived and kept JDS on the ground and submitted him, or reversed him and ground and pounded him out. Fights often turn out different than you would think if the fighter in trouble is given a chance to keep fighting. Not very good for the health of the fighter, especially his brain, however.

Here's a good breakdown of 196. The mcreggor diaz part starts around 18 minutes. It's trashing mcreggor's style a lot, lol.

He makes a really good point on McGregor's striking and it is has a very close parallel to Tyson. Tyson had the best head and trunk movement and in doing so could use his tremendous power while closing the distance. Unfortunately for Tyson, if he couldn't put you down in 3 or so rounds, he gassed. The same thing happened to McGregor, and Diaz, while not particularly gameplanning that, was planning on a slower start, as he wasn't in competition form. It really worked out well for Diaz, because Conor couldn't bomb him like he could the 145 guys.
