That Lesnar vs Hunt fight was some UFC 1 shit right there. Pure striker vs pure wrestler. Lmao.

Neither of them were pure striker or pure wrestler, but because of how good both of them were at their specialties, the match ended up getting fought that way.

You know I was really bored with this fight card. I think I will go into fights with low expectations now, but I'm happy Cain won. He looked ok and I guess he is done with getting injured during training?!

Hunt looked gassed by the end of round one.

Brock won't last long, and I suspect he was just there for the ufc 200 money, just like Silva. He proved he's at a significant disadvantage in the striking area, and it's doubtful he would ever take down a cain or werdum and make any progress. He never said he was interested in fighting the best, only that he wanted back in the ring. It's brilliant, as the publicity helps his promotional branding all around, but he still is far from a rounded elite mma fighter.

Brock would have no trouble at all getting Werdum to the ground. That is the fight I can see Dana trying to make next because Werdum is not known as being a great striker. Brock is also a hell of a lot bigger and stronger than anyone Werdum has ever fought, ask Frank Mir about that. Werdum's game plan would be to extend the fight until Brock gasses out.

Even Stann called Brock a novice in MMA, which he is. I saw nothing different from him in his fighting, ground and pound against someone who was taken down. Go back to the WWE, its a better place for him.

The UFC Heavyweight division would be only for the better with Brock Lesnar in it, and he is not to be discounted in his striking, even if he is not that great skillwise, he hits like a mack truck, and discount that at your own risk.

Catching up on #UFC200. Nobody will confuse Lesnar with Klitschko, but his footwork, movement and distance management looked so much better.

Lesnar jabbed, pivoted, consistently cut angles, and kept his back off the fence. Whenever he blitzed, he exited on a different angle.

Timing on Lesnar's takedowns was great. He knew he couldn't just blast Hunt with a double; nice timing on his entries and slick chains.

I love the Brock hate. Yes, he is an amateur MMA fighter. But, he is also a freak athlete with a good wrestling background. The guy basically came in off the street and was able to compete in the UFC without an professional or amateur fights before hand. His striking isn't great, but he also has like 6 total fights EVER. It is improving. The fact he was in the WWE rather than going into MMA earlier is just hilarious as it pisses off so many MMA "fans".

Dillashaw only got $25k for his fight?!
oh how the mighty have fallen.

Silva got more $ than DC, the reigning champ?! WTF?!
how the hell does someone taking a fight at the last min get more $ than the champion?
and there was no win bonus for DC?

so who think DC did this fight for the paycheck instead of walking away?
very little upside in fighting, BIG downside to his reputation if he loses.

None of those account for any of the PPV cuts (which DC probably got a lot more than Silva). And Brock likely didn't get a piece of at all, hence the big check.

I'm guessing even with ppv no one even sniffs anywhere near 2.5 mil. Dude has some pull in the UFC. He has the best press conferences in the UFC. Connor's act is getting old imo.

surprised Nevada doesn't require them listing total pay.
ie: % of ticket sales they get

After Brock's positive test and likely suspension, I doubt he'll be around again.

It's humorous they paid Silva more than DC, just to hang in the ring for 3 rounds, while DC got less and also had to pay his camp for training him.

DC didn't screw DC, Silva screwed DC.
Wrestling Observer said:
Because it wasn’t a title fight, Cormier, based on his contract, got a base pay of $500,000, instead of the $1 million he was to receive for his title defense against Jones.
Cormier, Tate and Lesnar (and there may have been others like Silva and Aldo, but we know of those three) all had PPV points on the show. While every contract is different as far as breakdowns, the general rule based on contracts we’ve seen, is guys with points will make about $3 million extra on a 1 million buy show and $4.5 million extra on a 1.5 million buy show.
It was said yesterday UFC200 did 1.1-1.2M buys. Bar reports say they emptied out after the Lesnar fight.
Brock Lesnar said:
We'll get to the bottom of this.
If not Nevada is about to get a generous donation (50%-75% of Brock's purse).

u mean Jones screwed DC.

so $500k or $600k is basically the same compared to the $3M ppv paycheck.
and wow Tate getting $3M?! from rags to riches!

did Holly also get $3M+?

Doesn't surprise me a bit. Brock is a huge draw, but the rest of the card wasn't really after Jones was nixed.

I hope Brock's B sample isn't positive, or is for something other than PEDs, but I highly doubt it. Apparently, B samples have almost never been clean when the A pops positive.
