Connor did get his ass kicked. As I said, largely because Khabib was afraid to stand up and fight. You mentioned the 3rd round, and Khabib did stand up more on that round. He also lost that round by score cards. His FIRST ever loss of any round in the 27 fights he has fought. That is a pretty big deal. Khabib was smart, going to the ground. Everyone knows he has the advantage. Also makes for an extremely boring fight. First two rounds, I'd say 90% was just holding each other and barely moving. Booooring. That being said, that is what Khabib does, and why he wins. Cant really blame him for it, just not what I wanted to see.
If all 10 fights were without more training, then yes Khabib would win all 10 I think too. One punch can make a different though, as we saw the Derrick Lewis. He handily lost every round, until the last 20 seconds. One punch. Connor didn't even train for it that much. IF he spends 100% of his focus on getting ready for the fight, he will do better. Not that I would expect him to win though.
None of that changes the fact that Khabib acted like a thug. Talking trash happens in every damn sport. Its certainly part of the hype in UFC. Going into the stands and assaulting someone with weighted gloves, far exceeds that. Hoping the ring and hitting Connor in the back of the head like a punk, is also not cool. But it seems people around here think that talking shit deserves assault. if that is the case, virtually everyone in P&N would get their ass beat. There would be fights in every NFL game, etc. From fighting people in the stands so players fighting each other. But thats not how the law works. You dont get to punch someone in the back of the head because someone said mean words to you. I hope Khabib never fights again, and they all go to jail. That wont happen though, because like with most areas of life, money rules all. Often times over what is right and wrong. They'll fight again, it'll be huge again, and Khabib will probably win again. The right thing to do, and if White wants respect of a "real sport" then they would kick his ass out. Or at least give him a very, very long suspension. And I am no fan of Connor. I like arrogance and being confidents, he's past the line that I like though. But, its a game, and he's playing it. Doing it well, getting rich.
For a change of subject, the Derrick Lewis post match interview was comedy gold. One of the funniest I have ever seen. Just was honest about everything, and hilarious. Q: Why did you take off your shorts? A: My balls was hot. Haha, so damn funny
