People need to give props to Gonzaga. He was in control the whole fight and may have ended the fight on the ground if they hadn't been stood up for no reason. I like these upsets though. Sure, there is no undisputed #1 contender but at least now there is starting to be depth in the UFC. It gets annoying when the #1 and #2 fight and then the next 5 fights are crap because of a talent drop off.

I agree. How many freakin posts on Anand have there been just like that? Even though I think he is a great fighter, that KO was pretty ironic......

they pointed out a couple things last night i didn't realize:

#1 - cage vs. rope makes a big difference
#2 - UFC allows for elbows

yeah since gonzaga had him agianst the ropes and was bashing the hell out of him with elbows...

Check www.sherdog.com they have their own forums, etc. They have all the run downs on the fights, etc. Lyoto won btw, unanimous decision I believe. There are other big MMA sites too, like mmanews.com among others.

Then Nog beats Gonzaga, then Werdum beats him. That would be so awesome.

Edit: Cro Cop is still by far the best striker in the heavyweight division, however, so I hope he doesn't decide to retire.

Wow...complete shockage over that High Kick. It looked exactly like Cro Cop uses to KO his opponents. I still think Cro Cop would win 7 out of 10 vs Gonzaga but gotta give props to Napao.

I will not be shocked when Gonzaga beats Couture. Gonzaga is a younger, faster, and bigger version of Couture. Even Randy said he matches up better with CC that with Gonzaga.

This opens things up for Big Nog. I think Nog's ability to take a beating and basically smother and sub anyone on the ground makes him perfect to win the UFC HW title.

Arlovski was boring as crap. I understand he didn't want any part of Werdum's ground game....nobody does. But still, he was getting the better of the standup. He could have chopped Werdum's legs out.

Bisping looked tough again.

According to a recent Cro Cop interview, his knee has a few strained ligaments, but he claims there was no serious damage to it. I thought his ankle was F'ed when I saw his foot basically pointing the wrong way.

Man, I just watched the show...daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. I like Cro Cop But it seems that people are finally able to train properly for him.

The Machida bout was good too...all in all, not bad. I really look forward to seeing how Bisping progresses. I really thought he'd be a little gassed after all that punching in the first round, but he just kept at it.

Hey guys I watched IFC the other day for the first time, is this anything like UFC?

I gotta say I was amped, but then I quickly got disappointed as over half the time they spent on the mat entangled in the missionary position grunting and stuff.
Was kinda lame.

Is UFC better?

it really depends on the fighters. There's some that you know are going to come in and really try to end the fight like Bisbing, Hughes, and St. pierre.

But then you have guys like Arlovski and Silvia who could end it if they wanted to but are afraid of losing.

I think I read this on another forum and completely agree with it. The reason a lot of these guys don't go all out and fight not to lose is because of UFC management. It seems like in the UFC, if you lose once your basically out of the picture for a while, and if you lose twice your out of a job. Where when I would watch early Pride fights, it was more about putting on a good show for the fans. You would have guys that lost a couple times but if they fought hard and gave the people what they wanted, they would be brought back. I think that is how it should be.
