I think Chuck is overrated. It's well known that he's the frito bros. and Dana's poster boy. He hasn't really had a challenging fight for the past 2 years. I mean he's fought Randy and Tito twice and Horn (who I like but isn't a potential champion). Babalu was having delusions of grandeur or something. Rampage can charge Chuck like that, that's his style. Babalu can't (obviously).

Chuck's being coddled by the UFC because they want to keep him as the champ/poster boy. I hope Jackson beats him. I say TKO in the 2nd.

What I'd really, really like to see is Brandon Vera cut down to 205 (from the looks of him it's very doable). He hasn't fought in a while, but he would be a monster at 205. He was doing very well as a heavyweight (against not that great of opponents), but if he dropped to 205...Man, watch out Chuck/Jackson.

And they will. Check out "UFC 73: Stacked".

I was going to say the same thing. The UFC is first of all a business. They know Chuck can sell cards by himself (same with Hughes) so they don't need to stack a card of he's on it. Everyone buying this card thinks it's worth it to see Chuck fight b/c you can almost be assured of a KO by someone. Karo vs Burkman should also be a VERY fast paced exciting fight. Plus Ivan is back, Jardine is cool, and Leben is always fun to watch.

But seriously, if you are new to UFC, buy UFC 73 instead.
Main Card Bouts:
-Anderson Silva (#2 Middleweight in the World)* vs. Nathan Marquardt (#7 Middleweight in the World)*
-Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (#2 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Heath Herring
-Tito Ortiz (#9 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Rashad Evans
-Sean Sherk (#10 Lightweight in the World)* vs. Hermes Franca
-Kenny Florian vs. Alvin Robinson

The Top 4 cards there could be headliners (or the #2 fight) on most other cards.

UFC 73 will be good, Rashad Evans is BAD ASS, Tito's decent but I don't like him. Rashad almost kicked that dudes head off in his last fight.

Rampage is going to win, and not just because I bet 50 bucks on it. Chuck seems like a cool guy and is a great fighter, but Rampage is going to rush Chuck and Suplex him on his head. I think it will be a good fight even if it ends in the first round. Both will get some awesome hits in for sure.

humm Rashad vs Rampage might be good. I really liked that Rashad fight I saw on Spike seriously wicked head kick.

Umn No...why do you think he is where is is at? Get in the ring with him and find out.

Umm.. where did I say he couldn't kick my ass?

He is where he is at because the light heavyweight division is lacking in talent

Sorry i guess i overdid it on my comment there. I just get sick and tired of someone people calling chuck a pussy when they would never do that to chucks face. I do disagree with you about the lack of talent though. I think the UFC has more talent then anytime in its history. Look when some of the old timers trying to get back in. Hughs wiping the floor with gracey and tito wiping the floor with shamrock. I think the fighters today are so much more diverse and lets one-dimensional than the fighters were in the early era. Sure the argument could be made that they lost because they are not in their prime anymore but i don't think that is true. Anyways why is chuck so good? Well for one he hits HARD. Secondly he has one of the best take down defenses in the buisness and when he gets taken down he gets back up quickly.

Now i do agree the heavyweight division was lacking in talent (before randy increased weight) but the light heayvweight is not lacking. Andrew Arloski (or however you spell his name) isnt' that great.

Of all the fighters recently the only ones i don't like is diego sanchez (he is a freak and i'm glad he lost).

LOL. Just because someone has an opinion of Chuck they have to get in the ring with him? That's stupid. I hate Chuck. He seems like he is a drugged out lucky guy. I hope Rampage slams the living bejesus out of him.

Diego lost due to a really bad staph infection, or so that is what Dana White said yesterday.

Look out for Karo vs. Burkman on Saturday as well. Karo is unbelievable but he doesn't really take his fights seriously. His cousin, Manny, is currently starring in The Ultimate Fighter 5.

I'll be honest, and you'll hear this from many die-hard MMA fans, Rampage kind of lost his warrior spirit after losing to Wanderlei Silva twice and then to Shogun. I think he's back. It all depends on how well of a training camp he had. He hasn't really had many training partners to help him for his past previous fights. Hopefully he is focused and has his head on straight. This is definitely going to be a real test for Chuck.

I agree about the Rampage quote. If you look at his earlier fights (like his first fight with Chuck - his fight with Arona) he is very aggressive moving forward slamming and punching like a maniac. However after his 2 losses to Silva and 1 to Shogun he appears much calmer like he lost his aggression. Even his last fight with Eastman he seemed a little tenative.

I personally like Chuck and people who call him overrated are full of crap. He beat everyone the UFC put in front of him Tito x2, Randy x2, Vernon White, Horn, Babalu x2 - and when he fought these guys they were all the tops of their division. I honestly could pick a name out of a hat for this one it's so close. I give the edge to Chucky b/c of his cage experience and current mental state. Remember that the cage is much larger than the ring. When Rampage rushes in the cage, Chuck has a lot more room to circle out and couterstrike, which is his speciality. He is also very good at using the cage to get up and also to defend.

I agree w/ your Rampage analysis. Shogun demolished his ass. Anyone coming out from that will be more tentative but personally i think jackson is a more complete fighter

I thought Tito was a better fighter than Rampage personally. I was surprised to see Chuck knock him out so I really don't see Rampage beating him either. Don't get me wrong, Rampage has a shot at it though.

UFC lover here.

Hmmm... Great fight I think Chuck v. Rampage.

I saw the Tokyo fight and I thought Chuck didn't look like himself. Even on his way down the long catwalk and getting into the ring. In the fight he looked slugish etc. At the time I was wondering if it was jet-lag or something.

Rampage's style looks like one Chuck may not be able to handle. OTOH, it may be a good point about the ring v. cage, I'll be looking for any possible diferenc that may make.

No, Chuck isn't over-rated (even if he loses to Rampage).

I wanna see Fedor Emelienko (sp?) fight over here.

Tito v. Rashad? Hmmm.. Tito's got a lot of experience over Rashad, so I would'nt be surprised if he takes it. OTOH, I always seem to underestimate Rashad even though I like him. But I think if Tito loses he's pretty much irrelevant or out of it altogether. He outa be really motivated.

Holy $hit :Q

I do agree with you on one thing: I can't stand Diego Sanchez either

They are both apart of Team Punishment. The main reason why Rampage hasn't been in the UFC is due to Tito. They do not have any plans to fight each other.

that will change if one of t hem get a title. IF rampage wins and tito continues to win and gets to be #1 contender you can be sure they will fight.

I dunno I've heard it straight from both of their mouths that they won't fight each other. Who knows though, it may happen but I'll believe it when it's confirmed.

Whoever wins this fight is going to have to fight either Dan Henderson, Wanderlei or Shogun in their next bout.

There isn't a single sports bar in the detroit 'burbs that carry UFC fights. I've tried multiple times to no avail. All I can do is download it afterward. boo.

sports bags legally just can't show PPV's, I was shocked to find out a few years ago NONE carry boxing matches, I forget which one it was but my GF and I wanted to go watch it, I called every one listed in my area, her area and even LA. Sucks the PPV people are so greedy and want to charge a sports bar a stupid amount of money to show it. Guess from the owners I talked to it wouldn't be worth it to them to carry it.

I think WWE is the only PPV that has a big sports bar thing, and that's because they partner with a lot of sports bars and advertise you can watch it there, which makes sense. Boxing and UFC should do the same thing.
