Not a UFC viewer, but decided to tune in to this main event. Do the refs normally jump this fast to stop a fight?

No, they wait till the guy dies from strikes.

By the way fans of UFC make it sound like, the fights are more extreme. So it just seems a little too quick on that call. He was still defending himself. It was not as if he was defenseless.

Actually he was not. He had his arms down, not at his head....

Watch the second Chuck/Tito fight. They let chuck pound the crap out of tito because tito had his head covered. If you are not defending yourself at all times.. you lose.

After Page stopped landing blows because Big John stopped it.

Exactly. His arms were flopping about when he was getting pounded. If Chuck really had thought that was a bs stoppage he would have made a big fuss about it. He knows he got rocked, and he knows he lost. Period.

On 3 other fights I always bet against the black guy...and the black guy won every single bout. Needless to say I made a quick call and changed my bet to Rampage and won a little moolah.

It was the night of the black man tonight. I was especially shocked at that one (forgot his name) whose debut was tonight...just KO'ed the fvck out of that one guy...wasn't expecting that at all.

No but in all honesty - I like Chuck but didn't think he was going to win tonight's bout regardless. (already had money on 'page)

Mccarthy is one of the best refs UFC has ever had, I've never seen him stop a fight too early. Infact I've seen him let a few go longer than he probably should. Dean or any other ref would have done the same thing.

When they asked chuck about a possible rematch he didn't sound too thrilled.

Rampage is awesome, and he is so colorful in interviews. Weather you love or hate him people have strong feelings. I loved when he said "all you fans that boo me, your breath smells like ******, booboo!" haha or something. Dude is comedy to listen to.

There will be a rematch even if it's not earned, Liddell is the pride of UFC (no pun) and they'll still hype the "Chuck has avenged every one of his defeats" With both at 100% Liddell will only win with a lucky shot. He's strong as hell and one of the best, byt Rampage is straight up monster. WHO have you ever seen take Chuck down like that with 1 punch? even people who dislike him will admit he has a concrete jaw.

There were actually a few nice fights tonight, glad I didn't pay it for and went to a friends, wasn't worth even $30 to me.

Thanks for the link. Probably won't last long. Seeing those other angles just shows that he got a direct hit on liddel's chin.
Yeah. Initially, I didn't know what happened because of the angle but once I saw the replay, I saw exactly why Liddell went down.

Either Liddell's chin got weaker or Jackson got stronger since their first fight because in that fight, Liddell took a hell of a lot more punishment from Jackson before going down.

They didn't stop it too soon. You can see that Rampage got in about 3 shots while Liddell's arms just hung limp on the canvas. He wasn't even defending himself.
