The the hell did they end the fight so soon? They called that a knock out??? Yeah he got knocked down, but he wasn't out... I guess in UFC you lose when you hit the mat?

I guess you missed the part where Chuck's hands were flat on the ground, and Rampage was bouncing Chucks head off the ground with punches ?

The dude was knocked out. Normally when someone is punching you in the head, you cover it. His arms were halfway limp and they were at his sides doing nothing. They could have let it go on for another 10 seconds, but he would have just been pummeled senselessly.

Could be, the youtube video was gone pretty fast.

I see on ufc.com that they are calling it a TKO.. that makes more sense.

Anyone notice that Ultimate Fighting is evolving into just a crude form of boxing lately? Whats to prevent a washed up Mike Tyson from going in there and owning these guys? They seem to have abandoned ground fighting all together.

You need to watch more UFC fights. All of the first rounds are usually "boxing" matches with the later rounds turning into a ground fight as the fighters get worn out or desperate. As for Mike Tyson watch UFC 1-10 and you will have your answer (no mike tyson did not fight but you'll get the idea).

Mccarthy is one of the best refs UFC has ever had, I've never seen him stop a fight too early. Infact I've seen him let a few go longer than he probably should. Dean or any other ref would have done the same thing.

When they asked chuck about a possible rematch he didn't sound too thrilled.

Rampage is awesome, and he is so colorful in interviews. Weather you love or hate him people have strong feelings. I loved when he said "all you fans that boo me, your breath smells like ******, booboo!" haha or something. Dude is comedy to listen to.

There will be a rematch even if it's not earned, Liddell is the pride of UFC (no pun) and they'll still hype the "Chuck has avenged every one of his defeats" With both at 100% Liddell will only win with a lucky shot. He's strong as hell and one of the best, byt Rampage is straight up monster. WHO have you ever seen take Chuck down like that with 1 punch? even people who dislike him will admit he has a concrete jaw.

There were actually a few nice fights tonight, glad I didn't pay it for and went to a friends, wasn't worth even $30 to me.

Actually I remember a fight where Mccarthy ended a fight too early involving Sakuraba a while back.

i think tyson would get worked by anyone who has good takedown abilties or kicks, considering you can't do either in boxing.

Maybe not Mike Tyson but I think if you get a Heavyweight Champion Caliber Boxer and train them in other areas for MMA for a good year or so, I think they could dominate most guys. But styles makes fights so who knows.

Tito Ortiz beats Wandy
Wandy beats Rampage
Rampage beats Chuck
Chuck beats Tito Ortiz

I still say McCarthy is the best ref in UFC.......bar none. I've seen others wait a little too long & sacrifice the contender for their own lack of attention to the welfare of the contenders.

As for Liddell???????? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a VERY loopy right. Yes, it snapped his head, but not much and I mean.........NOT MUCH! That was NOT a button punch. That was not a jaw-punch. That was a very slight chin punch & nobody can argue that Chuck's got a chin. Maybe not the most iron chin in UFC, but........MAN...........that was RIDICULOUS!!!!

If I'm Chuck........I am TOTALLY embarrassed this morning. I have a feeling too much of his training is focused on conditioning & less abusive sparring. Perhaps Chuck should train w/ Team Punishment for the rematch!!

Dayum...........what a total let down!

Wow, all the UFC nuthuggers are going to find out what Pride is all about. Now if UFC could just get Fedor to come on over and take the heavyweight, the Pride takeover would be complete.

Just think Rampage was only the 4th or 5th best 205er in Pride and he destroyed the wonderful Chuckie.

I agree, I was a lil' disappointed. If you've watched the first Pride fight, Chuck's head was bouncing in every direction because he kept getting punched in the face.

It is very simple guys if you have ever boxed or done real sparring.

If you know the punch is coming, you don't get knocked out unless it is an extremely powerful punch. Chuck's style normally allows him to move backwards like that to avoid the hits. He didn't expect to get hit.

The punches that do the most damage are the ones you don't see coming. If this was boxing, Chuck would have been up by a 3-4 count and been ready to go. It was a flash punch that caught him moving backwards. The difference is that Rampage was all over him immediately and NAILED him with some nice shots.

Oh yeah he fought an elite UFC fighter who kicked his ass.

Oh wait, Crocop fought a relative unknown new fighter who hasn't been fighting in the UFC for any great amount time. Crocop got caught by a lucky kick.

You can call Rampage's punch lucky but I call it bad technique on Chuck's part.

As opposed to any of CroCop's kicks? We all know it's devestating, but you can call any knockout in any MMA fight lucky, or you can call it bad technique. It all depends on the person viewing it. You can't make excuses for one and then call the same thing in a different fight the polar opposite.

it might have been a lucky punch, I don't even think Rampage thought he could take Chuck down that fast. But looking at both fighters objectively, Rampage would take Chuck down 8 of 10 fights. And I don't want to hear that UFC hype crap about "Liddell has avenged every one of his losses!" (up until last night) He beat Horn fine, but Randy was pretty old, in his prime I think Chuck couldn't have gotten Randy again. Regardless, I think on every level Rampage is the superior fighter. UFC idiots say Rampage has gotten worse since the 1st fight and Chuck has gotten better.

The Chuck I see then and today is mostly the same, a great brawler who really hasn't faced anyone of Rampages caliber. Rampage had some big losses, especially the one to Shogun, but his losses came to some of the best fighters ever. Shogun & Silva would own anyone just about. Rampage's skill never went down, he just faced monsters who took him out.

Chuck has a iron jaw, that punch might not have looked like it was all that powerful, but how many times have you seen Chuck fall like that from a single shot? I know I've never seen it. The rematch will be good, but Chuck only stands a punchers chance - in other words, could win by luck, but that's it. Rampage's style isn't one Chuck can compete against. And if Henderson beats Rampage and Chuck has to fight Henderson, I suspect he'll chalk up another loss.

Henderson Vs Rampage will be awesome.

Eh, I would have liked to see more. Chuck's defense is better than that and just got caught w/ a right as he unloaded. I would have assumed jackson wsa going to ground and pound him

it was a phenomenal punch, he saw an opening and it hit just right. When I said lucky I meant how it effected Chuck. In their 1st fight Rampage pounded him and Chuck still stood.

I didn't expect it to end like that, but I knew Chuck was going to loose. Rampage is a much better fighter, but I still think the punch was somewhat lucky.

I'm just glad I can fvck with the Liddell fans about the "he has gotten revenge on all his losses" like he's some sort of cyborg. Liddell got owned and Dana might drop him as UFC's poster boy. Especially with the Pride people coming in who could probably kick Chuck's head off.
