Lesnar tapped out at 1:30 of the first round (knee bar was the official call).

wow, you could see the leg lock coming. guess brock didn't take him serious, he was just standing there and thought he could just get out even though frank was grabbing his foot.

Mir may have won but he is going to wake up about 3 shades of purple tomorrow. Lesnar looked like a killer but just got careless.

Yeah Mir was taking a beating. With experience and more training Lesnar can be unstoppable. I don't think I've seen any 265lb fighter move as fast as he did.

just think, 265 was only his weigh-in weight. he was actually much heavier than that at the fight.

If you're going to make comments, at least spell his name right

Brock was just really green. There's normally at least a warning before a deduction for a point...if Brock hadn't nailed him in the back of the head I don't think Mir would have gotten out of that pounding.

His training/all access thing didn't show him doing a lot in terms of jiu-jitsu or defensive strategies. Given another 6 months to a year I think he'll be a lot better. Think he needs to move and get into a better camp.

It is amazing how much skill and technique can overcome sheer ability and brute strength. I think that in order to get in close to Lesnar, Mir knew he would have to eat a bunch of those 4xxx sized hams. The leglock was a simple move put on a very green MMA fighter.

As for the Nogueira-Sylvia fight, same thing. Big Nog was content to stand and bang with Lurch until he was able to shoot in and take him down. Once down he did a sweet inside leg sweep to keep Sylvia down and then flipped him and choked him with relative ease. Another case of a world class fighter beating a fighter who really has no business being mentioned with any top 10 fighters. I know Tim won the belt twice, but the level of competition has increased dramatically as of late in the UFC and he will be banished to KOTC or something like that soon enough.

As a side note, do you realize that Nog is 31? My God, he looks like he is 50. He is by far my favorite fighter. He seems to need a beating to wake him up. He has some of the best BJJ going and he moves like a middleweight. Definitely a super smart fighter and should be able to keep the belt for a long time.

His losses were to: Josh Barnett (came back an beat him the second time) , ditto for Dan Henderson, and he lost to Fedor Emilianenko twice. Dude is the best fighter in the world IMO.

Peace

pretty crazy fight... Lesnar looked to have so much more power and just be able to manhandle Mir but Mir pulls through with a submission... GF...

i predicted Lesnar would get pwned by submission in the 1st round

edit: oh yeah and LOL @ Stone Cold when they showed him... drinking a beer and said the same thing like 10 times... "let's get it goin" or something... lol

Leg locks are extremely painful, whatchu talking about?
Arlovski won the hw title by submitting Sylvia with an ankle lock if I remember correctly

predictable, lesnar was way to anxious, he didnt capitalize properly he just jumped on frank like a giddy little schoolgirl all the while frank kept his composure. lesnar got potential though.

Lesnar can move thats for sure, but he's definetly too impatient. That flurry of punches looked comedic, almost like he was back in the wwe.
Kudos to nog for taking down big tim in a humiliating way.

As for me i am hooked on ufc in hd on a big screen

yeah, brock should annihilate him.

doubt it. Brock only has raw strenght on his side. his wrestling while good is not even in the top 20 in the UFC. he has only been in MMA for short time.

Though Mir is on the way down. BUt he was a champion in the UFC. This is no walk in the park for either one.

yeah he only won the NCAA wrestling championship, and he's only been training for MMA the past 2 years. not top 20 in the heavyweight division for wrestling? that's gotta be a joke.

there more then a few that won the NCAA and a few olympic wrestlers.

he might win (mir is at the end of his carrear) but really doubt its a domination. Mir has a great chance to win.

How do you see Mir winning this?

IF he wins (possiblity but not betting for or against him) it would be a submission. I doubt brock has a glass jaw.

but who has brock faced in MMA? only guy i know was terrible but brock did dominate.

it should be a good match.

heh it kinda went how i figured it would go. though Brock looked great when on top. figured if he was to lose it would be to a submission. he fell pretty easy to it also.

they should have had him face someone like Silvia, Abbot or Cabbage. someone with poor submission skills.

i do think with another year of jujitsu training he will be great.

My wife actually wanted to see this, so we ordered the PPV and watched it together. Good quality time. Some of the UFC events are better then others, this was one of the good ones in my opinion, very entertaining.

Whaaat? This was pretty boring minus the Lesnar fight. The fight w/ Tim wasn't all that exciting either. And we had to watch yet another Jeremy Horn fight. Oh great, just what we all want to see.

indeed, he could have easily won if he had just squared up and put all his power to use. ill chalk it up to inexperience. i was thinking he was going to choke but if he did it was only for a second, when he had frank spread eagle he had no idea what the heck was going on, but he did make an attempt to escape the leg lock.

thank god noguera beat tim, i dont want to see tim as champ again lol.
