I don't consider a record of 5-3 a decent run. The HW division has always been the weakest of the promotion.

I'd say winning the championship and defending it twice is pretty good. His two losses at the end weren't necessarily reflective of him given his diverticulitis. Is he the best HW ever? No, his hands sucked and he just straight overwhelmed people, but given a healthy Brock he was an entertaining fighter and someone to be respected.

Most people believed she was on PEDs long before she actually got busted. That being said, I don't think many MMA fans believe she is the "unofficial reigning champ" at all.

Most athletes in any sport including MMA are on PEDs.

She IS the "woman" to beat in the woman's division. Whether she's in the UFC or not. She is the competitor all women fear. So let's bring it on! If Ronda can beat her, she will be THE undisputed UFC champ. If not, the Cyborg challenge will always be looming in the background.

Don't forget that the prelims are on Big Fox before the main event. It seems like they change which channel the prelims are on quite a bit.

Peace

Good card

Lawler should crack Brown out of there.

The Punk should win as well.

The Cruikshank v. Masvidal fight should provided some excellent striking exchanges.

Rumble has been looking strong, and has serious power at heavier weights. Another good stand up war I am hoping.

Don't care for Guida's fighting style, hope he loses spectacularly. Seems like a good guy, but as a fan he just ain't my kind of fighter.

I disagree, a champion wins belts and keep them much longer than 2 fights. Or even gets it back, Lesnar was nothing more than a fighter that made people watch.

With WWE doing budget cuts and the network killing PPV revenue I would be surprised if they renew his phat contract so after WM in April its a possibility.

In Lesnars defense, no HW in the UFC had held a belt much longer, it's a tough as shit division to stay champ in. Brock's run was stupidly impressive, and without Diverticulitis who knows how far he could have went. Maybe it would have played out the same for him, but the pre surgery Brock @ 100 made Mir his bitch and looked unstoppable.

Yeah, Brock had diverticulitis, but everyone seems to forget that he really, REALLY didn't like getting hit. He had the athleticism and ability, but when you turn your back on your opponent and run away after getting hit...that's probably not the sign of a great fighter.

+1

Cain is the top fighter since Fedor had to buy his scooter. And the heavyweight division is anything but weak. The flyweight and middleweight divisions were weaker until just recently when there was a major influx of talent into the middleweight division.

Cain can kick the ass of any fighter in professional MMA right now. Even Jon Jones would fall to somewhere in the top 5.

Matt Brown missed weight by 1.5lbs, the story said he had 2 hours to make 171.

That's not a good sign for an exciting fight. Seems to me that most fights, where one of the fighters struggles to make weight, ends up not being so competitive.

He may not have been a great UFC fighter in the history of things, but imo it deserves perspective before suggesting he just didn't like to get hit. He fought some of the top UFC heavyweight fighters in the world and was down for it until he started getting blistered in the face by champion material. He went very far in a very short time, but ultimately got outclassed by a few of the top/most experienced fighters. No shame in that.

Weigh in update.

Confusion reigned in San Jose after today's UFC Fight Night weigh-in, with both main eventer Matt Brown and strawweight newcomer Juliana Lima missing their marks weight wise, Brown coming in at 172.5 and Lima at 117.

Both Brown and Lima intended to make a second attempt at coming in at 171 and 116, respectively, but Brown was told by a California State Athletic Commission official that he was not going to be allowed to make a second try, though commission rules allow two hours for such an attempt. Shortly afterward, Lima was pulled from her attempt to make weight and put back on the scale, where she clocked in at 116.5 pounds.

UFC President Dana White discussed the matter with commission officials, asking why the fighters would be fined if they were both willing to cut the extra poundage in the time allotted. The commission agreed, and both fighters will proceed with their bouts as scheduled and will not be fined by the CSAC or the UFC. Brown and Lima will be eligible for post-fight bonuses, and Brown will be eligible for a welterweight title shot should he

Yeah I think he was running away from Shain Carwin and Cain Valasques right? I hope Brock stays out of MMA, his shit talking was a fucking joke.
