Thats kinda amazing they stripped him of the title and didnt make the replacement fight for an interim title. Its probably the best move long term to get Jones to get his act together. I dont know what to think about the replacement fight. Its like the Rockhold vs Machida fight in that I want both guys to win. I have a feeling Rumble will walk through DC and that'll pretty much be the end of him after losing two title fights in a row.

UFC stripped light heavyweight champion Jon Jones of his title Tuesday, one day after he turned himself in to police custody on a felony charge in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Jones, 27, is the first champion in UFC history to be stripped of a title due to disciplinary reasons. UFC officials announced Tuesday that the promotion has indefinitely suspended Jones and pulled him from a scheduled title defense against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 on May 23 in Las Vegas.

I am shocked that the UFC actually did something to thier cash cow. wow.

Just a guess, but his legal troubles won't amount to much and this whole thing will blow over pretty quickly. He could be back and fighting for the belt again before the year is up. And I'm not sure how the rules play here, but since he technically didn't lose a fight to lose his belt. If he comes back and wins the belt back maybe his title streak would continue?

His return fight would probably be an instant title shot and it would be huuuuuuge.

If you think Rumble could beat Jones, and Jones looked pretty comfortable against DC, you can't possibly think Rumble won't dominate DC. I hope it is a good fight, as the rest of the card looks like it will be good as well, but I just don't see DC having much of a chance.

It should be a good fight regardless, DC should be able to take it down and I believe Cain is back active in camp so he has the best fighter back to train with (Cain was out when DC trained for Jones).

Also very surprised UFC stripped him and suspended him, it sends the right message to the other fighters and it's the right thing to do.

depending on amount of dope, he could also be hit w/dealing.

Because, being involved with a hit and run while under the influence of drugs and alcohol is going to look a lot worse than simple possession of weed and fleeing (and coming back when sober).
