To me, Jones/DC is just as intriguing. But that means DC won't be able to get his knee fixed before the fight. (Or did he already?)

I'd rather see Jones vs DC anywho. Thankfully it wasn't Jones who got injured, for months before the fight was made Sherdoggers have been foaming at the mouth with "Jones is ducking Gus!" threads. Jones could have compound fractured his back to the point half the bones were sticking out and he would have been called a chicken if he had been the one pulling out here.

Sherdog's a source for some great 'Chops.

I rarely laugh at shit on the internet but this one got me good.

DC vs. Jones is going to be a helluva storm. Jones will try to get off a lot of kicks but I don't see it possible that he can create and control space with his length the way he usually does against a pwerful bulldog like Cormier. And without that space, he's not going to win the standup game and he's not going to defend the takedown, and he's certainly not going to out-wrestle Cormier. Bye JJ, it's been real.

Nick's going to get smoked then he'll throw a bitch and retire again or not fight for a year at best. Nick's one of the sorest losers I've ever seen. This is one of the fights he has been asking for, so I respect him stepping up.

Scheduled to return to the Octagon in Brasilia, Brazil on September 13 against Paulo Thiago, veteran Joe "Diesel" Riggs's first UFC bout since 2006 has been put on hold after an accident at Riggs' home in Arizona Monday night.

The UFC released the following statement on the incident.

“We were made aware that newly-signed UFC competitor Joe Riggs was involved in an unfortunate accident last night. While cleaning his permitted firearm (a pistol), the gun discharged, injuring his hand and upper thigh. Riggs was transported to a nearby hospital in Arizona where he is being treated by physicians. We wish Joe a speedy recovery.”

Texas welterweight prospect Sean Spencer, winner of two of his last three, has verbally agreed to step in for Riggs against Thiago.

I hope Silva beats the living fuck out of Diaz. So badly, he can go mow lawns for a living.

diaz will just have another hissy fit and retire yet again.
Yeah, I have a feeling that no matter what, this is one big payday and then he's out again. I think that's why he wants Anderson... His new contract probably has a portion of the PPV buys, and he knows Anderson's first fight back will be about as big as it gets.

ROLF.

He signed a 3 fight contract, so even if he wants to retire he'll have no choice but to fight 2 more times. I'm all for a Japan PPV with no weight classes like Pride use to have. Cain Vs Diaz would be a pretty sick.

Also Diaz is only obligated to fight his next 3 fights with the UFC if the contract is per usual. He can retire any time he wants but if he wants to come out of retirement then he can only fight for the UFC until a certain amount of time has gone by.

WAT?

Are you going to pay the hospital bills for Diaz?

For an open weight fight in Japan I'd start a Kickstarter to cover medical for Nick sure lol. Technically I don't see why the UFC couldn't do an open weight PPV in Japan, but I know they never would would though even if they could.

I'm also good with Diaz Vs Lesnar doing a single return fight. Japanese MMA fans absolutely eat up freakshow fights like this.

Realistically assuming Nick wins his 2nd fight a rematch with Lawler would be bad ass. Maybe not all that realistic, but it's a possibility, unlike Nick vs Brock.
