Everyone writes punk off because he was in the WWE. He is an amateur fighting another amateur. I hope he wins convincingly. I love "UFC purists" to have egg on their face.
Punk is 37 year old, gall is 24, i don't see punk hanging in there with a 24 year old. They should of given him an older amateur.Everyone writes punk off because he was in the WWE. Good luck with that. He looks as skilled and capable as a rock rolling up hill.Everyone writes punk off because he was in the WWE. He is an amateur fighting another amateur. I hope he wins convincingly. I love "UFC purists" to have egg on their face.
Hard to find 37 year old guys with less than a few fights though. The only thing really going against him is his age and lack of experience. I don't see him having a long MMA career or even challenging for a belt. But, writing him off because he was in WWE is stupid.Punk is 37 year old, gall is 24, i don't see punk hanging in there with a 24 year old. They should of given him an older amateur.

Mike Bohn @MikeBohnMMA
Of the 26 fighters currently scheduled for the UFC 205 card, 20 have headlined a UFC event at some point in their career.
That's a solid ppv fight card imo, which will include the beginning of the end for McGregor. Looking forward to seeing Khabib fight, and hopefully they all stay healthy in the meantime (especially Khabib.)Mike Bohn @MikeBohnMMA

There are some mma fighters that don't deserve pain? That's like rodeo riders that don't deserve chapped butt cheeks.Thought so.
Weidman and Kennedy deserve pain, so I have to disagree.

Another freebie on tonight, FS1 at 8PM PT, Dodson and Lineker in the ME.
Lineker (.5lb) and Oliveira (5.5lb) missed weight, forfeiting 20% of their purse.Another freebie on tonight, FS1 at 8PM PT, Dodson and Lineker in the ME.
I did hope he won. It would have been hilarious. He's an athlete, he had a game plan and some training, and ended up against a guy that was superior in every way. And, CM Punk is probably one of the best guys to ever be in the UFC, as far as a person goes. Anyone he's worked with say he is a great guy and has a great attitude.lmao. This deserves a quote.
It would have been amazing if Punk won and it would have been a slap in the face to people who said he had no shot, but only because he had virtually no shot. He sucked that much, at least compared to pro mma fighters he was attempting to take on. (and I don't say that because how he lost to Mickey Gall, but because that's how I felt after seeing his most recent training video before the fight.)
More power to him if he stays with it, but he would be smarter if he didn't (at the competitive level), since he's too old and unskilled (nor an athletic 'freak of nature') to start going against elite competition at this point in his life.
Speaking of, I'm very disappointed at the lack of Mickey Gall vs. Sage Northcut at UFC 205.
