There's no such thing as 'preparing her whole career'. She's had to learn mma from the beginning, and you can't learn mma from the beginning with a specific fighter in mind - there is too much attention to detail needed for it to work that way.

She's prepared for every fight in advance, and each fighter is different, while at the same time, trying to become a more balanced and rounded mma fighter. Fighting Rousey 2 years ago would have been about marketing, not practicality or reason. Six weeks of solid preparation specifically preparing to fight the champion is absolutely huge.

One week between their first pro mma fights, lol. Rousey has been the goal for a while, no question. Actual preparedness for Rousey's Judo and strength is a whole different reality. Holm probably has as much potential to beat her as anyone, but only if given enough time and bouts to prepare. Moving the fight up does nothing but help Rousey win.

Holms would take Rousey in a boxing match, no question. Her punching and foot work is some of the best ever. However Rousey has really catapulted her Judo dominance into an incredibly dominant mma fighter, props to her.

Afaic, if there was any time to bet on the underdog card in a Rousey fight, this would be it (which I will definitely be doing.) +1025 for Holms to win, and +300 to last 1.5 rounds (probably the best bet.)

I don't know . . . Holm is a volume puncher (not much power) so she would have to win on points.

Ronda is a power puncher and has already 1-punch KOd 2 of her last 3 opponents, I wouldn't bet on Holm lasting a full fight against that.

Ronda has never KO'ed anyone with 1 punch. Last fight Beth stood there and got hit a bunch of times before she went down. She's a sloppy ass striker who has a few KO wins despite that because her competition's a joke. She will never in her life have a 1 punch walk off KO finish. Anyone with good head movement would light her up on the feet. Hell Tate was doing pretty okay in the stand up department their last fight. And Tate's pretty poor striking wise. Holm is worlds better than Tate, if Ronda wants to stand and bang she will lose. I suspect she'll eat a few shots, get a judo throw and arm bar for the win. She ain't going to out strike someone who actually knows how to box, I don't care if she technically does hit harder.

If Holm can keep the fight standing, she does have a chance. I can't imagine that is going to happen. Ronda will close the gap and dominate her, especially on the ground.

It's a very simple concept. Davis didn't go down or out from the punch, so it's not a knockout (and certainly not a one-punch knockout.)

She was out, you can see the arms go limp and the legs start to collapse. She came back around during the throw to grab on, but she was certainly out for a bit there.

I think he will win an appeal. The tests were fucking ridiculously different. He was mostly punished for acting like a twat, I think.

Still illegal federally, still illegal in Nevada, still against the rules. Even if it was federally legalized, until it is no longer against the rules, penalties will be given out.
