She was robbed because the ref didn't take a point away after hitting Holm for the second time after the bell. I thought Holm was a different fighter in the 3rd after getting tagged HARD after the 2nd round's bell.I love the fan poll. It just shows how fucking stupid most fans are. 74% of people really thought Holly won that fight?
How was Holly robbed exactly? She got punched in the face far more. Sure, she threw lots of punches that missed and shot a bunch of takedown attempts, but it wasn't even close.
The ref isn't going to deduct a point on the first time, it was close enough to give a warning. The second, had he deducted a point, it would have been a draw. And, had the actually done is fucking job and moved to separate them, it wouldn't have been an issue to begin with. Also, when he chose to break the clinch and when he left it go on without Holly gaining and position, it would have been a different fight. She was robbed because the ref didn't take a point away after hitting Holm for the second time after the bell. If a point were taken away, as it should have been imo, that would have given the fight to Holm.
Yep, the ref sucked bad. My first thought seeing him introduced, was 'crap, never seen this guy before...' Unfortunately for Holly, this mma thing is not working well for her. Ref issues and late cracks aside, she looked horrible in respects to being a rounded mma fighter, muchless an elite striker (which she is.)The ref isn't going to deduct a point on the first time, it was close enough to give a warning. I thought she had many more strikes and kicks than what's her name too, even tho she didn't have the hardest ones.still don't understand how Holly lost?
thought your score is based on effective striking, aggression, and octagon control.
Holly had the latter 2
De Randamie was way ahead on significant strikes. I'd have to watch it again, but going by effective striking, I had Holm down 4-1 at the end, but the 3rd could have gone either way IMO. Holm landed a knock down, but that was pretty much it and de Randamie finished the round (and beyond) dominating Holm.I thought she had many more strikes and kicks than what's her name too, even tho she didn't have the hardest ones.

Also, apparently, the state's athletic commission picks the refs, not the UFC. Even Dana White was saying that guy in the main event had no business being in there. Hopefully, cards in New York aren't shitty.
The real BS was Silva winning. I could argue he got a single round, but all 3? Nah, those judges are on fucking crack.
Yeah. I can't see any realm in which Brunsen lost the first round. It just didn't happen. It baffles me anyone would see it as such. The second, I'd give to Silva, as Brunsen's "volume" was in the clinch and it didn't seem to hurt Silva at all. They were landed strikes, but not effective, in the sense they should have been. The third, there was some of the same, but I thought Brunsen did more and won 2-1. I'd have to rewatch it to be certain, but I won't honestly.I'd have to agree with the bigger issue being Silva getting the win. A huge WTF. Brunsen is just as confused.

The officiating was unbelievably pathetic in quite a few fights. Clinches were broken up WAAAAYYYY too early by refs who had no business calling ufc fights, holm should have at least have gotten a draw. NY needs to just license a lot more nevada people before they allow any NY based refs in big ticket UFC events.
The refs will get better, its only the 2nd fight, the bad part is until they get better, we are going to see more terrible refereeing.
When I lived in NYC, my bookies were out of Brooklyn, just sayin. The MSG fight was officiated fine, tho
