UFC76. Shogun gets spanked

Feh, didn't really care about any of the fights in this one. Four went to decision. Must have been pretty boring.

i was at the fight last night....some pretty good ones. Jardine did really well against Chuck and Forrest vs Shogun was a shocker... Forrest actually submitted Shogun

Despite the fact that most of the fights went to decision, it was still a great card

wasn't much of an event. none of the fights were "great" and it was largely forgettable.

It really wasn't that bad. The forrest fight was great, he rocked the whole fight. And Jardine/Liddell was a slugfest.

Jardine/Lidelll was a war!

Fitch/Diego was a very technical grind of a fight.

I have to say... I was expecting Jardine to get dropped, not because Liddell is a god, but I just thought Jardine sucked so much ass that even a 37-yr old who doesn't keep his hands up(Liddell) will just hit him and KO him like Houston Alexander did.

I was also expecting Shogun to WTFPWN the monkeyboy(Griffin). I have no idea if it's the whole ring vs cage thing, but these guys need to step up.

griffin is bigger and stronger. rua's real cardio was never tested being pinned down like that.
I will wait for another loss till I write him off as overrated.

The only truly boring fight they showed was the Machida fight. All the others, even the ones that went to decision were very entertaining.

Seriously, I just finished watching it and most of the fights were damn exciting. I like seeing Diego lose but at least he admitted he lost straight up...I still love Griffin, that guy puts on a show every time just like he says. The pace was pretty fast for their size and seeing Rua winded like that was unexpected. Griffin showed great defense on the ground and like the announcers said, he's much more mature in his standup now. As for the Liddell fight...despite deserving to lose that fight, it's sad seeing him lose 2 so quickly after years of dominance. 37 isn't exactly young for MMA though, I wonder how he'll bounce back.

Makes you wonder, they were so scary in pride, and now in the UFC they get spanked more often than not.

People are somewhat "concerned" about his cardio and ground game. I am on the side that thinks he never had a chance to show us what he got in the cardio dept so its a moot discussion at this point. Hey, page is an x-pride fighter Hendo did really good for his age even though he lost - another successful x-pride fighter right there. Some people from either camp do irritate me with straight out fanboyism, but for the most part holding pride in higher regard was more than justified in its prime when all the talent was there; now the time is ripe for UFC, lets hope Fedor makes a good transition

I expected Chuck Liddell to lay off the partying after Rampage whooped him but I guess he is gonna coast into retirement.

Shogun ran into a very tone/prepared Forrest Griffin. The cardio finally gave Griffin the winning edge.

Great fights.

I don't know what you guys are talknig about with a forgetable card, the tyson griffin and thiago tavares fight was a great one, and the diego sanchez and jon fitch fight was a great technical ground fight.

Glad lidell lost, shocked at the shogun fight. Guess shogun's cardio caught up to him.

Yeah, that's weird. I wonder who the light and middleweight champions are in the UFC? Oh yeah, Pride fighters.

I do admit the Shogun loss was AWFUL. If I was Shogun, I'd never show my face again in MMA after taking a loss to that worthless fighter Forrest. If you lose to someone like that, you just don't need to be in MMA. I don't care who you beat in the past. Freakin' awful!
