I do admit the Shogun loss was AWFUL. If I was Shogun, I'd never show my face again in MMA after taking a loss to that worthless fighter Forrest. If you lose to someone like that, you just don't need to be in MMA. I don't care who you beat in the past. Freakin' awful!

Jackson and Silva were never champs in Pride. Yet they have done great in the UFC.

So you're saying an average Pride fighter is better than a champion UFC fighter? Yeah, I'd agree with that.

Liddel is like Tyson, only strategy is to try and knock out his opponent. (which he is good at, but UFC requires more skills than that these days.)

Griffin hit every branch when he fell out of the ugly tree, but what a trooper. Got that huge cut and just smiled through it.

Do you think the steroid issue is overhyped? On sherdog, they talk incessantly about how the fighters were juicing all the time in Japan and how out of shape they look over here. Shogun looked like a mess compared to his last fight. Hendo looked less his "normal" size. Big Nog looked flabby, too. Herring looked like crap his first three fights. And Cro Cop has not looked like a world beater either.

There has got to be a reason other than the standard "They are not used to the octagon" line you hear people throw around. As for Rampage: look at him now compared to his Pride days. He looks almost identical. Perhaps he was cleaner than most back then, or he knows where to get the good "clear" stuff.

That's a good point, it's been noted in the past how chute boxe fighters took extra supplements, and i'm sure it wasn't uncommon for other fighters to do it where it wasn't regulated in japan.

I'm hoping its a transition period, and it's going to take a few fights for them to get their feet under them again and back to pace.

Hopefully now that Chuck lost, we'll get a Wandy/Chuck fight in december.

in one interview with Forrest he said "i ain't pretty and i am not good but i will bang with anyone" or something like that. he is always saying he is ugly and yeah he is! heh

but man he can take a punch and give one. i don't think he will ever be champ. but stay in the top 10 and very popular.

I dont understand why people think forest is a crap fighter just because he was on TUF. I think hes proven hes got what it takes to be a great mma fighter. personally hes one of my favorites, hes never given a poor performance and hes willing to stand and throw with anyone. also when he got cut and then his facial expression afterwards, that was great lol! I wanna see him go all the way and win the title.

Yeah people need to stop hating on Griffin. The man really mainstreamed MMA for a lot of people with his TUF finale fight.

One other thing I've noticed...
It seems to me that UFC fighters do much better with cutting weight than the Pride counterparts. I don't know what Shogun walks around at, but a few weeks ago, on the Spike Randy Couture special, Randy made reference that Griffin was up around 240. Also, if you look at the weigh-ins, he really looked dehydrated. I would imagine he would gain 7-8 pounds in water weight alone.

It is freaky how the top notch Pride fighters haven't faired so well (Big Nog, Cro Cop, Rua) but the middle of the pack guys seem to excel (Silva, Rampage)

I expect Nog to bounce back and possibly obtain the title tho.
