What happened in the Silva fight? I saw the Chuck fight already uploaded to YT but haven't seen Silva.

They need to throw the light HW champ at Silva, or do a catchweight w/ GSP. There's nobody for Silva...he's just going to keep fvcking around till Dana does something worthwhile.

Silva vs Nick Diaz would be an awesome fight imo. Will never happen though.

Nick Diaz can eat a bag of nuts. Shitty attitude, good fighter, but not anywhere close to Silva's level. Not even close.

It is not Silvas fault the opponents they put in there are not worthy

I think Chuck is too greedy to retire. As long as somebody is willing to pay him, he will continue to fight regardless of his chances of winning.

Dana even said before this fight that Chuck was the main draw on the card, not Silva. As long as he brings in the $$ he'll continue putting Chuck in fights.

Sadly, the mainstream MMA audience would rather watch two meatheads slug it out than a technical kickboxing/grappling match.

Sadly, the ENTIRE light HW division is exactly that. You only get technical when you go to the divisions below that. When's the last time we saw big names go to the ground? Can't think the last time I saw it. It's all about standing up and banging. Yes, there are technical light HW fighters but none of them are even near the spotlight.

You want technical? Then hope that your satellite or cable company carries the Vs. network. Watch the WEC and enjoy the little guys putting on a show that will blow just about anything else out of the water. My hope is that Zuffa will let it's contract expire with Vs and bring the WEC over to Spike and put on a whole bunch of live shows. Or even dump all the weight classes into the UFC. What does it matter? The featherweights and middleweights (?) put on such technical shows, and their power punching is practically nonexistent, so you have guys relying on their insane cardio and even crazier skillset. The last WEC live card, a few weeks ago, was nothing short of fantastic. Free fights are always good and the WEC rarely disappoints. I haven't paid 50.00 for ANY UFC fight, nor do I intend too.

Peace

I watch the WEC all the time. The lower weight classes are stacked, but they're lacking in middle/light-heavyweight department. The UFC seems to deliver a more consistent quality of fighter overall. Plus if you fight in the UFC with gaping holes in your ground game, Joe Rogan chews out your jiu jitsu on live television, which can't be fun.

WEC dropped the Welter, Middle and Light Heavyweight classes and transferred the better fighters contracts over to the UFC, although I think every one of the WEC's fighters in those classes lost their opening fight in the UFC. The only crossover class left between the WEC and UFC is Lightweight now.

Brian Stann, the one and only light heavy champ from WEC fought Krzysztof Soszynski and was subbed. Soszynski has 26 fights with 17 wins and Stann is what, 6-2? No contest there, especially with the skills Soszynski brings.

I was looking at the dark fights and could not help but notice how far the Pride guys have fallen: Dennis Kang in a dark fight? Wow, I did not think he would fall from grace so quick. Then I see that Ryo Chonan loses in a dark fight. Crazy shit.

Then I see that David Loiseau loses to Ed Herman? hat is this world coming to? I would have expected Loiseau to rip Hermans face off with elbows.

Looked like they danced for 25 minutes while on occasion throwing a few kicks or punches - and quite often Leites just dropped to the floor and had the "take me" look. Acted like a bitch the whole fight, and knew he didn't stand a chance unless he got Silva on the floor.
I don't know what the hell was up with Silva though - acted like he was just bored and didn't feel like doing shit until Leites threw first.

Was a boring match.

And Liddell - jesus he just keeps seeming more and more washed up. Looks like he rarely even trains now too - just doesn't look the same. He's not what he used to be, major bummer too because his fights were some of the more worthwhile to watch.

Kongo's fight was more enjoyable, and Soszynski's match was quite enjoyable, nice seeing some grappling and a submission win.

Damn, I thought they only dropped welterweight.
