ugh just got back from Emergency room.

I have chronic pain (from arthritis and Cerbal palsy) well the last few days have been pretty bad. so the wife made me go in to the emergency room.

they gave me a shot of diluadid and boy do i feel good! just tired.

also got a proscription of vicoden es ohhh!

yeah i know beer and pain meds do not mix.


is there a list of what the most powerfull pain meds are? the doctor there was not much more then the vicoden eS i could take.

Any schedule 1 narcotic.

Delodid is right up there as #1 alond with oxycontin.

Delodid with a side of vicodin? Pretty sweet.

it was pretty fast. we got there at around 11:45 and inot the room by noon. had the shot right around 12:45 and out by 2pm.

Codeine is fairly common, but it's not as strong as vicodin. You can also get morphine (usually only post-op), which is maybe a little less strong than dilaudid, iirc.

I have pretty severe back pain (compressed discs, pinched nerves) and took vicodin 5.0/500's and 7.5/750's (ES). The vicodin mostly made me feel real loopy and good, but I would still hurt pretty bad. The vicodin was prescribed by my general doctor at the time.

I started seeing a pain specialist and went on percocets (7.5/325 first number is the amount of narcotic pain reliever in mg and the second number is the amount of Tylenol in mg). Those made a world of difference for me, one and a half of those would knock the pain out completely for 4+ hours. I now take a low dose oxycontin (same active ingredient as in percocet, but a 12 hour formula and no Tylenol). It helps with the chronic pain, but the Percocets definitely were the best. But, that was just because I was taking more of the oxycodone at a time.

I also tried Morphine, it just made me dizzy and just took the edge off, the oxycodone was definitely the best pain relief for me.

With all that being said, hopefully the hydrocodone (vicodin) can help you out... it has the potential to make you pretty loopy. You better take it at home and see how you react before you try and drive. Oh yea, if you take them for a long time beware the constipation!

Don't even get me started - glucosamine is good to take for maintaining and improving joint health, but it's not going to cure arthritis. It won't even put too much of a dent in osteoarthritis (wear and tear on the joints), and if you happen to have rhuematoid arthritis (an autoimmune disease) or some other related problem, it won't do much at all.

First off it is Dilaudid.

Second off, Schedule 1 drugs are ILLEGAL in the USA.

Schedule I drugs

Findings required:

(A) The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
(B) The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
(C) There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.

No prescriptions may be written for Schedule I substances, and such substances are subject to production quotas by the DEA.

That said, be careful with Vicodin ES as they have lots of tylenol usually. For your liver's sake, try not to consume more than 4grams(4,000 mg) of tylenol a day.
