Wow. I thought you were posting pics of a car from the junkyard or something. That thing really looks trashed.

But man, that same thing happened to me to my 240sx. They shattered the rear hatch window however were not able to get to the amps in the back.

Oooooooooh, I had no clue what I was looking at.

Sorry to hear it!

*edit* I think claiming that you're the most unlucky person in the world might be a *bit* of an overstatement.

err.. why did you leave it in the trunk? Someone I know got his brand new coilovers swiped from his trunk.. he doesn't know when they were swiped because he put it in, and never opened up the trunk for 3 months until he was showing them off to someone.

That absolutely sucks. A couple years ago I had someone break into my 944 and steal my briefcase (which included my company laptop, a TI-85, and my P&S digital camera), fortunately they didn't break my rear hatch to do it ($2,700 item), they simply jimmied the door open for "only" $750 worth of bodywork.

I hope that whoever took your exhaust is eventually caught, if not now, then at least when they get stupid enough to try it again.

From the trunk of a car? How would someone know what was in the trunk?

I'm asking because I make it a point to move valuables TO the trunk of my car if they need to stay in the car and I'm going to be gone for any length of time.

But ouch, Truenofan. That's awful someone would take your stuff like that.

well im extremely unlucky since i've gotten back from iraq. first i had a box with roughly 2500usd worth of stuff stolen. a asus p5k mainboard, ddr2 1066mhz ram, a core 2 quad q9300, and a geforce 9800gtx scc, a pentax k10d with extra battery and 16gb class 6 sd card stolen along with a cowboy bebop limited box in there and a few other things. awesome me. and now this.

I've heard that soldiers are easy pickins when they come home. I guess other people have too.

its not that. its that we allow people with criminal records in and people who are dishonest and unloyal to anyone but themselves. they screw everyone else when we are supposed to be better than that. its only gotten worse since i've joined in 03. and i'm glad i'm getting out and never coming back. i say this over and over. i should have joined the air force.

I don't understand why you are storing anything of value in your car? Especially since it's plainly obvious what it is because of the glass hatch. Never store anything in your car. I dont think I have kept more than a few dollars worth of stuff in my car since my iPod was stolen years ago.

the rear hatch had pretty good tinting from the factory. it was also in the middle of the night.

edit: as you can see from the first picture, you cant even see through the front of the car. you cant see anything. and thats on a light cloudy day.

You can if you lean your eyes up against the glass.

Does your car have any engine mods or are you just one of those dudes who has a audio and exhaust system that's worth more than the entire car?

well i was going to put my new exhaust on it. the car mechanically is in near top condition. no rust, and no real leaks anywhere outside of the power steering pump which i intend to take off(along with the A/C pump and similar items since that doesn't work either). its just the paint looks like crap since it has body panels from 3 different cars(red, white, blue) and then the previous owner decided to rattle can grey paint onto the car(which i also intend to solve with my dads orbiting sander when i get out of the army). i'm already intent on taking the interior out and putting in a roll cage and further modifications so the interior doesn't really matter to me. im just glad i didnt have the new shocks/struts, sway bars and bushings ready for install in my car too.

edit: a rotary has no engine mods for the most part. in a n/a rotary the best upgrades outside of tearing the engine apart, porting it, throwing weber 40-55's on it and running straight pipe from headers to tail pipes is intake and exhaust.

This is true. You cannot think that anything of value is safe in your car...? 1rst time, okay...but over and over..your fault really...
