I can't remember but try beyond3d and 3dpulpit for starters.

You can do it via regedit

Note the 000X may be 0000, 0001, 0002 etc depending on how your PC is set up.

Doesn't the v1.27g or h point release fix this?

There are two issues. One is the compressing of lightmaps. This caused the "rainbow" effects. 1.27 fixed that. The other is Nvidia's implementation of TC. They down sample to 16 bits in DXTC1, which causes the "ugly sky" problem. Q3 1.27 has TC disabled by default. If it is enabled, you need to put in the patch to force DXTC3.

Thanks for the tips, just manually added the registry key because I couldn't find the file on Gamebasement and nvmax.com seems to be down? If you guys know the current home of NVMax I'd like to try that util out, sounds pretty cool.

Ok I'm running NVMax now, I'm assuming the option with it is to switch to DXTC3 then? I realized after the manual registry key I entered it didn't change it (do you need 0x00001 or something?)
