This one.
A modded aluminum dragon case, very sleek and classy.

I haven't gotten anything from them myself, so I can't vouch for them, but frozencpu.com seems to have a wide variety of very cool modded (and expensive) cases.

I wish "people" would stop asking this genre of question... There is NO one, ultimate case - or anything else for that matter.
. So take your tiny brains outta here and lurk 'til you obtain a clue!

Every case has it's strong points. Some would argue the ultimate case must be Al for it's low density, but others would insist that it isn't as strong as steel. I guess you could custom build a titanium case or some super strong carbon fiber and it would be light and strong. I think the heatpipe case that Directron.com is about to offer seems pretty "ultimate" for a seeker of silence. Different people want different things in their case. I don't think there is one ultimate case.

I took this to mean that he was just asking which case YOU would consider the ultimate case, due to the "opinions" statement. Just tell him what you like and why.

Everyone is gonna have their own opinion on this one.
My personal fav is this one from Kingwin come complete with 3 windows, it's aluminum and slide out mobo tray with good air circutlation.

In that case, I would say... I really don't know. I would want a case about the size of a Chieftec Dragon, with the same high quality construction, but would want grommet mounted hard drive mounts, all 120mm fan mounts with grommets, a removable motherboard tray, a custom fitted duct for my heatsink to the exhausts in the back, insulated with nice sound absorbing non heat insulating foam, and other nice stuff.

Those Soldam cases are sweet (table one). What's up with the 800$ regular aluminum case though?

Thank you all for the input. There are so many considerations in choosing a case that I'm not sure where to begin. The only thing I'm sure is that I'd like to get a case that's not the usual boxy shape. I saw a review once about a PC version of a Mac G4 case but I can't find it now.

Gazza... Thanks for the link! Personally, I think that is the sweetest case I've ever laid eyes on. I gotta have it.

When the wife asks why I just bought a brand new case, I'm blaming you.

I am particularly fond of chenbro server cases... they take a little work but if you punch fan grills, do rubber grommet mounts for fans, they become amazing

I like my Enlight 7237; it's a bit behind the times in terms of cases...haven't bought a new case in like ~4 years? It has some flaws though - the top panel is, or rather, was riveted on, instead of screwed. And there's "only" 4 5.25" bays and 3 3.5" bays (1 internal). For some users, this might not be enough; they're all filled on my PC. Most edges are rounded or folded over, but there's still some sharp spots. That's about it actually, at least that I can think of right now. The drive rails took some getting used to, but I love the things now - they're just incredibly handy.
There's probably something better than this out there by now though. I just don't build whole PC's often enough to need to shop for cases often.

Jeff7 that was my first case when I started building a pc for myself and your right was one helluva case to begin with !
Very easy to work with and espcially love the removable mobo tray, I hate cases that don't have this feature !

I am still using that same Enlight too. I love it. So practical. There are a lot of newer, slicker cases out there but for $67 w/ a 300w powersupply about 3+ years ago, it was hard to beat. No telling how long I will continue to use it.

Chieftec Full-Tower in Black, no windows or lights or anything except for some red glo-wire behind the grill to give off a nice evil red glow....
